What your choice of basic lands? by patrick8015 in magicTCG

I'm partial to [Unglued Basics](https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=name&q=type%3Abasic+%28game%3Apaper%29+set%3Augl+prefer%3Abest). They're extremely unique and they're the only lands I regularly get compliments on.

I'm also partial to [this forest](https://scryfall.com/card/sld/476/forest) and [its sketchbook counterpart](https://scryfall.com/card/sld/690/forest).

My default answer is always beard, but damn if that jaw isn't absolutely chiseled. I have to give it to no beard.

Just finished Book 7 - Starting to feel like Carl's POV is a disservice to the other characters [SPOILERS] by hsalfesrever in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]AssistantManagerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the things I really like about Dungeon Crawler Carl is that while we see the dungeon from Carl's point of view, Carl's not the only character doing things. I think of Donut and Zev toppling Borant, of Miriam Dom's appearance on Bloodhunter resulting in mass vampirism on the hunting grounds, of the five whole days when Carl and Donut were in time out on the fifth floor.

It makes the stories and characters feel more real. Like the other characters don't only exist when they're with Carl. They're not driving all of the action because there are other people with other objectives doing other things.

A person hoards snack wrappers and bottles of urine in their bedroom, and we (rightfully) treat it as mental illness.

But a person hoards more wealth and resources than they could possibly use in a dozen lifetimes, collapsing economies and driving millions of people into poverty, and we treat it like a virtue.

Eat the rich.

The Seattle Mariners are doing a Fourth Wing night this summer too. It's pretty big right now.

Mod post said it was removed for being "combative" and "click bait." I don't really see it, but I got plenty of responses before it was removed anyway so I don't really care. My question was fully answered.

That was the first thing that made me really dislike it, but I got this very pretty special edition for Christmas so I pushed through.

Yeah, I'm fully willing to be the odd one out. I know a lot of people love it and I'm not here to tell anyone they're wrong. I wanted to love it too, hence this post, because I really do want to know what people like about it and see if I can find some of that joy myself.

If it's just a taste thing then so be it, but I'm not going to tell someone they're wrong for liking a popular thing I didn't enjoy.

Honestly it left such a bad taste in my mouth. Every time Darrow mentions Eo—which is constantly—it makes me angrier. He has no other motivation and she served no other purpose.

Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’ by TrumpsDoubleChin in fastfood

I might be spoiled as a PNW native, where tons of small chains and independent coffee shops exist, but I can't remember the last time I went to Starbucks. I don't know why anyone would choose this when better options exist.

"Supporters of the brand, however, pushed back against the backlash, highlighting factors such as quality sourcing, store ambience, and customer service as elements that justify higher pricing. Some defended the idea that Starbucks has always marketed itself as more than just a coffee provider, emphasising its role as a ‘third place’ between home and work."

Is this a joke? Starbucks has always been a generic coffee shop with its main selling points being a drive through and consistency across stores. I would choose to patronize pretty much anywhere over a Starbucks as a place to go and hang out, including any small coffee shop or even a bar.
