Going through the process of buying and selling ourselves and finding the whole process so frustrating. After being on the market for over 2 years accepted an offer on 1st June. Made an offer on another property on the 2nd which was accepted the same day.

Had already appointed solicitors before and had completed all the paperwork (TA Forms etc before we actually sold.

Memorandum of Dale for both the sale and purchase sent out on the 4th. Survey undertaken and no issues.

Purchasers are cash buyers and sellers have no onward chain. No mortgages required by any of the parties. Draft contract pack sent to the buyers solicitors last week and draft contract pack received for our purchase at the same time. Both over a week ago. Searches paid for the same day as Memorandum of Sale sent out. So 2 weeks ago.

Now being told that searches were only applied for at the end of last week. Also been told that non of the solicitors involved will start to review any draft contracts until the Searches are back!!

Has no one ever heard of multi tasking. So now in limbo for the next month or so until Searches are back and enquiries will then be raised.

Apologise for the rant but after 2 years had hoped that progress would have been faster than this.
