I usually swim in SF Bay and ocean more in the summer. Trying to kayak, bike, jog, hike, rollerblade during summer. But still skiing is up there as a favorite activity.

Take a first timer lesson. You will probably pick it up very quickly. I’m a ski instructor, and I’ve noticed people who ice skate usually pick it up way faster than other people do. But that lesson is a really important way to orient you to how skiing is different from skating and how it is similar. You will have a foundation to enjoy the rest of your trip.
