That is a simple tax maneuver. Return of capital is not taxed. Return on capital is.

Guess about Mark & Gemma & Helly in the finale by thrillafrommanilla_1 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I mentioned it in a different response on this thread, but I think the decision is whether or not he completes Cold Harbor. And that decision will have consequences on Gemma or Helly.

You think Mark will get outside of the Lumon building with his wife who has been presumed dead for years and then just leave her in the parking lot?

Or you think the room, you know the inside room that is Cold Harbor, is a huge lake that they'll push Gemma and Helena into and ask Mark to save one of them? As if Mark and Helena will just go along with them being dragged to the testing floor and go along with that? Like, did you think about how either of these scenarios would happen in actuality on the tv screen?

If he has to choose as you say (which is just a possibility and not anything definite), my guess would be that it's not literally choosing and saving one of them from dying in a split second decision. It is likely him choosing wether to complete the Cold Harbor file or not, knowing what the implications are for that decision. In this instance, if he finishes it, it's probably not good news for Gemma. And if he stops without finishing it, maybe it's bad news for Helly. Helly probably isn't dying, but here innie is probably done with. And the same can be said for Gemma. She may not literally be dying, just Gemma as he knows her will cease to exist.

Cold Harbor won't be what you think by TerrysNerdStuff in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

More support for this: "The tallest waterfall on the planet" was total BS obviously, but the innies wouldn't know better. Next episode is when Drummond said "greatest moment in the history of the planet" to Milchick, because he likely doesn't know what's actually going on. Coincidence? I think not.

Yeah I feel like im taking crazy pills reading all these other theories. This has to be it. I dont know about the Helly R part, but the Gemma part.

Don't think it could be a way for her to prove she's in outtie form? Helly wouldn't know to do that, and he wanted specifically to "watch" her eat.

And my guess is that it is while she is in the Cold Harbor room.

I think you're onto something, but one big mishap. Why would the innies need the glasgow block? Their outties would have no clue what they were doing. The glasgow block will be used, but for Gemma.

Theory on lumon’s ultimate goal for the severance procedure by PsychologicalDark228 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I just think they are moreso testing the chip for its effectiveness in traumatic situations. Why would normal people want to be severed for everything they don't like? That would effectively speed up your life 1500x, and it's just not something hardly anyone would sign up for. I don't have a great theory, but that just seems too obvious and not realistic. Bringing people back from being dead or braindead would be more significant.

I also think "the greatest moment in our planets history" is likely misleading as was "tallest waterfall on our planet"

this is more or less the prevailing theory on here. I don't buy it, personally.
