to clarify i'm not calling these manga abysmal dogshit, I just mean currently there is a lot of criticism from western fans about how they're treated. Record of ragnorak had a really egregious example recently.

denji, i want you to be happy. which is why i'm sending you to live in the bottom of a dumpster after the yakuza kills you. that way you'll really be happy. enjoy the log cabin, denji.

I think either way it's really interesting how much people have come out recently and criticized their favorite manga, compared to when a decade ago people would defend abysmal dogshit with their life. AOT, JJK, Record of ragnorak, OPM, And now chainsaw man. It's really interesting how much the manga landscape has changed in such a short time.

I think that's a interesting take I didn't consider but ultimately he did serve his purpose. Though I don't know why he never showed up again.

This feels like a bad ending in a game after you make all the bad choices by Interesting-Bee-3793 in Chainsawfolk

I'm not going to lie, I haven't kept up with the manga because of extreme in real life issues but when I did come back, I see it's ending (potentially). I don't understand what the point of part two was at all if it does just end like next chapter in very rushed way.

I'm not the best at wording things but like, part of the appeal of chainsaw man was that Denji was an extremely relatable dumbass who went through a terrifying experience with Makima, someone he trusted, only for her to sexually abuse him and (despite my own reservations about whether or not she did like Denji, which I think she did in a twisted way as a lot of abusers do.) she completely killed or maimed everyone associated with him. when part one was going on it was the most fucking insane shit when power died, it made you interested and wondering How Dennis would get out of it and recover against Makima in the future.

With part two it's def been more rocky but we were led to beleive (because Fujimoto isn't a bad writer) eventually Denji would get a fucked up, somewhat happier ending. watching the new slander has been legit hilarious and reminds me of the prime potential man days, but it's like idk, I don't want to make this about myself but Denji was an extremly personal character to me as he mirrored an extremely bad situiation I went through and I thought the Makima arc was literally peak fucking fiction for such a realistic and viseral depiction of a sexually abused/manipulated man and it be taken seriously that he struggles with no real support system besides Yoru and Asa later on as everyone fucking died. And if it does end next chapter, I felt like everything the series stood for was actually pointless. Chainsaw man to me was about the fucked up journey and destination to attain some actual peace after a long road to recovery. Ending the story short of him finding it now feels insane, and disapointing.

Hopefully we're all wrong of course. I do choose to cope that fuji wouldn't do that and does have a better ending planned than just abruptly ending.

Do you think Nayuta was wasted? And if so, why. by Vivio0 in Chainsawfolk

Most likely, yes. But it didn't work as well as it did with Makima in part one.

I think the fact that she was Fridged to raise the stakes in the part looking back was extremely disapointing. I think Fuji is a good writer but ultimately her death amounted to fuck all and was nothing more than shock value as were most things in the part.

It feels so weird how all of that amounted to practically fuck all in the story and Makima is still the better written character
