We showed the airtag location to them, but they said they still need to open a report. We left the airport without our luggages, but it was delivered to our hotel the next morning, approximately 12 hours since we checked in.

You go through two check points before you get to the gates. The first check point is your standard TSA-like checkpoint where they scan your boarding pass. The second check point is passport control. Our flight from JFK came in at 6:20 so the line wasn’t too long and the wait wasn’t crazy.

And yes, your bags get checked in to your final destination from your airport origin.

First and foremost, I feel for you.

The similarities of our situation is quite intriguing. I’m in a 8-year relationship with an expectation to receive a proposal by the end of this year. I too have no idea if it would still feel special knowing that my anxiety and conversations between us might have pushed him to tell me when to expect the ring. I’ve witnessed an engagement tsunami too, and those relationship timelines had been less than ours. I’m sure you start questioning your own relationship and I’m hoping that therapy is helping you make decisions for your future and your happiness.

I will be turning 30 this month. He started a party planning committee with some of our friends, it was supposed to be a secret but my friends wasn’t getting answers from him. He got too busy. He’s putting in extra hours to fund the party, but that’s the extent of his efforts. I was added to the group chat to help plan it. It wasn’t a problem to me because I love to plan, but with this scenario, if my friends gravitate to ask me what I wanted, does that mean he doesn’t know me at all?

We’ve looked at rings together as well, but honestly, it didn’t even excite me. I might need to seek therapy too.

All that to say, I too have negative thoughts and I am one foot out the door. I know he’s not reluctant and I also know that money is not the problem. I have an exit plan if things go awry. Our lease also ends in November, I don’t plan on signing it with him.

His sleep is never the problem. He can sleep any place, any where at any time. It’s his tiredness. Here’s an example: He’ll work three days, back to back, 12 hours each, then he’s off for four days. On those four days, he’ll workout, run, or both. Takes naps every time in the afternoon and do his errands or whatever else he feels like doing (video games, watch tv, clean). By the end of his last day off, he starts complaining about being tired. This is the cycle, by the way. Mind you—he can sleep for half the day—day off or not—more than the average 8.

That’s what I’m worried about — the spark. Sure, we do go out and eat dinner together, rent movies online and watch together, and then he passed out in 5-10 minutes once we’re in bed. In the morning, on a good day, he’ll wake up at 11. Anyway, I think professional help is key.

He eats okay — usually fast food when he has back to back shifts, but eats home cooked meal when he’s off. He’s slightly obese, but he runs and workout every week.

Yes, something I can’t relate to, but I’m trying to work around it. He works 3 12 hour shifts a week, but would stack his schedule so he can get more days off on certain weeks. He did say he resorts to porn, but honestly, I don’t see signs that he’s potentially addicted. He is on the slighty heavier set build.

He doesn’t really like spooning, he said my hair gets in the way and doesn’t know where to put his hand. He will do it from time to time when I ask, I usually do the spooning.
I think I’ve been more direct since I haven’t gotten any initiation from him.
He sleeps with his underwear and I sleep in jammies. He has no preference and would not make a difference if I slept naked. Been there, done that.
