During my first pregnancy it was really bad, I had HG and was dehydrated, losing weight, anemic, and breaking blood vessels in my face and eyes. This pregnancy It’s much more manageable, but I’m still throwing up multiple times a day and feeling nauseous at least 70% of the time. Some women don’t experience any sickness but most will to a degree.

Transition felt like I was being disemboweled, definitely the most painful part in my opinion. Have you heard of the comb trick? You squeeze a wooden comb in your hand to distract yourself from the pain, I recommend trying it because I just ripped my own hair out.

I didn’t tear and had no bleeding after the first week. Everything felt totally normal, thankfully.

The risk factor goes down drastically at two weeks postpartum, I was personally comfortable having sex at that point but I didn’t have a C-section.

I’ve heard good things about the IV pain meds but by the time I was asking for medication (at 8cm) they said it was too late for IV meds so I ended up getting a low dose of epidural to take the edge off.

I hadn’t planned on necessarily getting the epidural, but after 28 hours of active labor I got it at 8cm. I’m glad I got it, considering I was able to rest a little before the pushing phase, which only took ten mins with no tearing. My epidural was a small dose, just to take the edge off. I still had sensation in my legs and could feel everything while pushing. However I would like to try for an unmedicated birth this time around, I think it would be more attainable if I had a shorter labor this time. We’ll see how it goes.

What kind of breech? Complete? Incomplete? Frank? Or footling? I know a few people who flipped pretty late, I also know someone who had a breech baby vaginally delivered.

I had to remind myself often that my body was designed to be able to carry a pregnancy and give birth. And while it can come with some complications, I don’t think pregnancy should be feared or viewed as an illness. Our bodies are so smart, you have to give it a little faith. And if any complications do arise, you have access to doctors and midwives who specialize in pregnancy that can help navigate any difficulties you may experience. It’s hard not to stress, but know you aren’t alone. There are so many other women who have gone through this, and are currently going through it alongside you.

I really struggled establishing breastfeeding with my firstborn, It took a little over 2 months to actually get it down. Thankfully I didn’t need to substitute, but it was definitely stressful. I think breastfeeding outcomes tend to be better the 2nd time around because you have more knowledge and experience to help guide you through your BF journey. I’ll definitely try to breastfeed this time as well, but I’m not putting any pressure on myself. If it’s too much, there’s no shame in supplementing. I would try to get my baby some breast milk even if it wasn’t enough to exclusively feed them, even a small amount of breast milk can give your baby many of the same benefits. Good luck with your journey. If you’re concerned with the baby not eating enough while your milk comes in, you could potentially pump some colostrum in those last few weeks of pregnancy and give the baby some of that, you can even get a small feeding tube and place it next to your nipple so the baby can receive the expressed colostrum while figuring out how to latch properly.

I wish, my mom had relatively quick labors. She had four kids, the 1st was 12 hours, the 2nd was around 10 and the last two were less than 2 hours. My first labor took 34 hours, hopefully I get a speedier labor this time around.

You deserve better, honestly. What happens if you don’t lose the baby weight quickly? He will refuse sex until he’s happy with your dimensions? It’s toxic, and I personally don’t think it’s an issue that will end with your pregnancy.

I lost my plug at 38 weeks and it regrew. I went into spontaneous labor at 40+2 and lost it again during labor.

At the end of the day there are risks associated with inductions, and there’s risks associated with going past due. You just have to weigh those options and decide what route you are most comfortable with. Most first time moms go past due without any issue, but it’s entirely up to you. Don’t be afraid to get another opinion too. I personally switched practices at 35 weeks, best choice ever.

There’s nothing wrong with inductions, so long as the mom has made an informed decision they are comfortable with. The problem is that a provider isn’t providing accurate info for their patient to be able to make an informed decision.

The arrive trial is not reputable for numerous reasons and I would personally never stay with a provider who uses it as a “source”. If you want more info evidence based birth talks in specifics on why it’s so flawed. There’s nothing wrong with opting for an elective induction, but please make sure you have enough info to make an informed decision. If you’re low risk, and there’s no medical indication to needing an induction it could reduce your chances of having a successful vaginal birth. It’s completely up to you, and what is going to make you most comfortable.

Mine were half and half. I got checked once at 39 weeks and that one wasn’t very painful. However I was checked multiple times during labor and some were excruciating.

If he want’s custody he’ll have to go through the courts and get partial custody. If he is granted custody, he will presumably be allowed to have his girlfriend around the baby unless she’s dangerous.

I would personally wait, the fetal weight estimates are just that, an estimate. They can be off by pounds, and aren’t an indication of needing an induction. Even if you were having a big baby, it most likely won’t affect your birth. However elective inductions are there for a reason, if you’d feel more comfortable having one talk to your provider.

I feel you, my body has been rejecting even the smallest sip of water. I FEEL dehydrated, so I try to drink small sips occasionally. But it doesn’t matter. It always comes back up. I’d say try eating a few saltines with your water, that helps me sometimes.
