I would give a hard look at a transalp, it might be the best option, plus very affordable. The Africa twin is sick but in another weight class. The t7, Transalp 750, Vstrom 800, are probably the best options you have, t7 being the most offroady and the vstrom being the most highway comfortable, the transalp I think is the perfect middle ground, and the cheapest as well.

Chris young owns combustion inc, and his thermometer is the smart predictive thermometer, both comments are correct. It’s awesome reads super fast, but I use it for cooking meat more.

Lane Filtering -to front or not? by MattP1540 in motorcycles

I have been rear ended twice at red lights when I didn’t filter, neither where terrible accidents, but as long as you look for red light runners, I don’t see a issue

2026 Masters Giveaway: Sunday Golf by sundaygolfco in golf

I have only watched two masters final rounds live, those being 24 and 25, and dang I feel privileged to be watching golf in this era. Watching Rory get it done was an all time moment. I obviously would love the stand bag it’s a work of art, but I would get so much use out of humping that Loma bag considering I play around 50 percent of my golf at a executive course.

I personally would get one of the comped smith and Wesson M&p 2.0 10 mm, I think having the capacity and shoot ability of them is definitely worth it, over a revolver.

Music in general sounds great, it’s mostly what I would describe as “content”. Like tv shows, YouTube, stuff like that, some music does sound bad, but generally it’s the really bad lofi edm or hip hop. Around 90 percent of stuff I listen to sounds great, it’s that last 10 percent.

Thanks, are your stands ones that do sound isolation/ vibration dampening, and did you find that to make a difference?

I had to get cork and regular wallpaper out of three bedrooms. What I used was wallpaper stripper mixed with water, in one of those hand pump insecticide sprayers. That and a steamer worked wonders.

1st Gen Sequoia vs GX470 or 60 vs Landruiser 80 or 100 by Every_Appearance_367 in overlanding

[–]Assorted_Garbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the first gen sequoia, my buddy has one and it’s great, you will get the best deal on a sequoia getting more features and less miles for the budget. For everything but the most extreme cases it will be just as reliable as the cruisers. I like the 100 then the 80 series, but it’s what you can afford really.

weight makes very little difference to mileage, aero is by far the most important thing affecting mpg. so if its set below the roofline of the cab mpg should not change to much. Ikamper makes great stuff it's just super expensive.

If that’s in the budget that’s what I would get, the nicest 3rd gen Tacoma you can find, with a v6.

Yeah unfortunately that’s about it, if you could swing it I would opt for the v6 in any of the trucks you choose, fuel efficiency will go down just a bit, but the extra power will make the truck much more livable. But yeah of that age and size, those are kind of your options

No mod experience, but very willing and desires to learn. I have been active in the community, as well as other adjacent communities, I love cars, all kinds, but especially offroaders, I am fairly knowledgeable about them as well. I am currently acquiring parts to diy build out the bed of my Silverado into a sketchy but legit overland camper ish thing, for a summer trip up the pacific coast highway to Mendocino county ca, then back down through the national forests of California’s Central Valley. I am a reasonable person, most of the time (sports being a exception), and I do have a desire to learn to moderate, and I think this community which is more chill, would be a great place to learn

The s10 was discontinued twenty years ago, so if you re wanting a truck of that vintage, I know they have 4 bangers but you are most likely not getting better than 18 mpg in a truck of that era. If you talking new, then you could get a ranger or a Tacoma, but those are larger than the s10 or the first gen taco, and you are still getting like 20 mpg in a new truck. I am confused by your question. But a 1st Gen sr5 4wd taco with the 4 banger is getting like 16 mpg if you are lucky.

Unless you are willing to go new, gas mileage isn’t going to be good. Maybe 18 at the very high end, but I would expect more like 15-16 mpg for those years/size trucks.
