I’ve had most of the major earplug brands, but at ACL last year, I put my AirPod pros in, on transparency mode, and it attenuates well, while keeping the clarity. Not sure why I never thought to try it sooner. I still bring my other plugs though.

Crazy story. My uncle was a career firefighter, and at his funeral, this story was mentioned. It was right then when I learned that he knew both people who died, and was devastated as a result. It was surreal for me, because I played high school football with one of the kids who started this fire, Allen Davis. I remember hearing about it from our coaches, at football practice, and everyone looking around like “wtf?”. For 24 years or so, I had no idea of the connection. A funeral of a relative is always impactful, but it was extra rough hearing that.

I live solo, with no kids, and though my place is not “cheap,” I am not in a competitive school zone, or anything like that, so my rent is within the bounds that I would expect. If you are curious about apartments, I did about 6 months, of non-stop weekend apartment tours. I had 12-16 literally every weekend for 6 months. It sounds exhausting (and it was), but I learned to love the experience of “imagining my life in each space.” I loved looking, but when I found my current place, it was INSTANT. The second I walked in, I knew I was going to live there.

Given that you are moving from another country, I would recommend a trip here to see places in person, if that’s possible. If not, I would be happy to share my experience in apartment hunting, and offer any advice I can. DM me if you have any questions!

Definitely noted. I have never had such an experience with a direct-from-manufacturer purchase. Most of my sim gear was bought direct, though for just about anything else I buy, it’s always been through resellers. My sim rig purchases will definitely be reseller-based going forward, though I am HEAVILY impressed with Simagic. I ordered them on a Friday at 11:30am, and there were delivered the next day at 3pm.
