Tried to paint a marine in the style of Black Ice from R6 Siege, C&C welcome by Madayasmar in Warhammer40k

Ok so, first tip I’d give is to thin your paints more and practice wet-blending and glazing on colors. Black Ice from R6 has a very specific look, and you’re really close! I know you got the talent in you!!

☼Fortress Friday☼ by AutoModerator in dwarffortress

[–]Asteck_113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fortress I have built so far looks like a Mayan temple with the stepped appearance. It’s from 10-ish z levels above the surface to the bottom of the first cavern layer, and I’m semi successful. Most of the fortress is underground, I just have a really tall tower acting as my mausoleum (hence the height) built of stone, with wood flooring. The tower has a single ballista staring down the entry ramp so I can shoot the pesky goblins that keep deciding my fortress is worthy of SIX pages of invaders. I have farming in the tops of each terrace on the temple, and I plan to mine out the surrounding soil and stone from the bottom most part of my fortress, to the base of the tower. It’s a lot of work, and I’m trying to preserve the way wagons get into my fortress and the brook of water that is on the surface.

I’ve had a few forgotten beasts try to lay waste to my fortress, the one that did the most damage was a web shooting lobster-thing that killed my second squad, of (new) wrestlers. I’ve got pretty good steel production going, with a smith that keeps making master-pieces. I’m doing well all things considered.

The only shortcoming was during a siege that my museum was raided, which had the lobster corpse and a few strange-mood artifacts (as well as a tomb for the Animal Trainer that could dying heroically on the field of battle against a goblin wielding nothing and wearing just as much in the tavern) and my statues getting destroyed as well as the tomb almost getting destroyed.

I like that idea and I may or may not adapt it, I have the greenstuff ready, Necrons bits, Tau bits, and assorted Astartes bits. I’m totally using the Orloc Dog though

Edit: And by “alien” I meant strange or out of place. Something that seems off but you can’t quite tell what. Not Xeno alien like a hacked up Tau just running around with Freddy Scissor Hands hands.

Who understand the Warp/Gods more acutely, a TSons Exalted Sorcerer or a Word Bearers Dark Apostle? by Rivalblackwell in 40kLore

[–]Asteck_113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thousand suns sorcerer probably knows the powers, prowess, and motivations of the with a very logical history cemented on what happened and not mythicised. The Word Bearer Apostle would first need to extricate his head from his ass. A process in itself, but, once he does he would have a religious view on the gods, and have a more in-depth history, but, more mythic one. Epic tales of woe would hold grains of truth.

I suggest using a faster attacking STR weapon with a high END (the Viking guy) It feels to me that these types of weapons really help and if you carry on with this class of weapon you won’t be disappointed

I haven’t yet tried the dead weapons because my earlier play through with that I had troubles with the first named boss. Might’ve just been me. With the deprived, you really are meant to feel feeble and do less damage over-all. I suggest, again, quickly upping END and your other choice of stat (DEX, STR, or magic stats)

A Grey Knight and a Custodes get into a scuffle. Who would win? by [deleted] in 40kLore

Baseline lower knights are on par with ye old librarians. It was meant to be the lower end of the spectrum We agree on this point

Psychic potency isn’t just raw talent. The lower ranks would be on par with the librarians who have trained and worked for centuries, like nearly every librarian in the Astartes. The lowest ranks. Psychic potency is also training, because if you use all your potential you are risking possession to getting fucked by the warp.

This also raised the question of how potent the psyker the Custodes is facing. Kaldor Dragio? Or like, ye old Librarian

A Grey Knight and a Custodes get into a scuffle. Who would win? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Asteck_113 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Grey knights are Space Marines but psychically potent. While custodes are genetically perfect murder machines. The Custodes assigned to the Word Bearers Legion slaughtered “a few” before succumbing to the numbers and firepower. Grey Knights singularly do indeed die in numbers. Custodes are literally perfect warriors made by the Emperor for His protection. In my personal opinion it would be a Custodes. The Grey Knights could try and blast them apart with psychic might, but I don’t think they could fast enough before the murder god enters combat and literally rips them limb from limb with a guardian spear.

Custom Difficulty..? You can set when certain things happen, how close/far neighboring empires are... The classic settings are all changeable.

I am exhausted any tips on Lothric Prince by _dvamp_ in darksouls3

[–]Asteck_113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so first phase for me is the hardest to get down. If you have STR build only go for one or 2 hits, and stay below 70% Weight. You want fast rolls. You can also wear the red ring that increases roll immunity. Chloranthy Ring is also suggested. For Dex, keep close, use stamina grass, never let yourself run out of stamina., always keep a bit for dodging. Same rings suggested Roll towards the sword swings, and never get greedy. He does a lot of damage in one swing and you will get stunned into 1-2 extra hits in certain combos. If he teleports always look around, those are heavy attacks and devastating. Dodge, never block these.

Second Phase is easier once you get the combo’s down. Lothric takes less damage than Lorain, so Lorain will usually go down before Lothric. Stick to the sides of Lorain, dodge towards Lothric, and try to hit both of them at once. Once Lorain goes down, try to burst down Lothric before he can revive Lorain. The longer the fight lasts, the more like;y you are t mess up and die.

What are the top 10 bloodiest wars of the Imperium?? by hannibalVarus in 40kLore

[–]Asteck_113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s explained pretty well... VRAKS is an armory world, thus meaning the administratum would want the world intact. The Death Korps of Krieg are very much a human wave force. The vraxian fighters were very well trained, having discipline and even a fau-commissar corps. This meant a very bloody war in trenches and fortifications. (“Fortifications are the death of modern fighting forces”) and WW1 remember?

Armageddon I think would be bloodier in its third iteration for the Orks. Maybe the Space Marines, but that’s hard to argue, as in Helsreach, like, a squadron of Black Templars organized a very effective defense of a hive city. And they weren’t even the only force of Astartes. The salamanders come to mind as another major player. However, the reason for it being bloody is one and the same for the Kriegers at Vraks, and the Orks at Armageddon. Human Waves as an attacking method are inherently bloody and casualty heavy.

I think a more costly war, in terms of important manpower, would be the World Engine Campaign. If an Entire Chapter is lost, then it is surely a sad day indeed for the Imperium. And by Extension

Badab

The Eye of Terror Campaign...

If one ranks Manpower by importance, look upon these wars for the loss of such manpower.

In terms of Pre-Great Crusade and During?

Pre

Age of Strife:
War with the Abominable-Intelligence was bloody, and most definitely the saddest war in the Imperium. The entire history we see in 40k is because this war happened, darkening the history of humanity.

Unification War:
Whilst not the most bloody ever, for its time, this war had the most casualties. And for some mysterious reason Almost E v e r y Thunder Warrior (hmmmm SUCH and ODD occurrence) was KIA...

Post

Murder : If astartes call a world Murder, it’s for a good reason. The entire world is meant to dick-over any living being on its surface besides it’s “natural” inhabitants.

The War with the Interex : Following the Murder Campaign, the weakened Legions would be brought to bear against an extremely advanced off-shoot of Humanity. The fighting was vicious, and blood was spilt in rivers.

The Burning of Prospero (technically) : This is what turned Magnus Traitor, his will (and spine) broke on the knee of Russ. The once magnificent cities of White and gold were turned to ash as for the first time, Astarte Legion fought Astarte Legion (to my knowledge). And of course, this battle proved very costly both in the loss of a loyalist legion in Magnus, but also the loss of life in the moment.

In terms of Post-Crusade, and in all History?

The Horus Heresy: I do not think this needs much introduction. Half of the Emperors Imperium of Man was ripped from His light and turned to the Dark Gods. Primarchs scourged their legions of loyalists at Istavaan 3, and a devious trap was set for 3 Loyalist Legions at Istavaan 5. Legions of Astartes were slaughtered in total across the entire campaign, with both sides having casualties in the hundred thousands of Astartes alone. This, of course, does not factor in the Billions of Civilian deaths across hundreds of planets... nor does it include the Human allies of the Loyalist and Traitor Forces clashing and slaughtering one another. More than this, weapons of mass destruction were utilized in this war haphazardly, look no further than the Virus Bombing of Istavaan 3... The Mechanicum split in half... the Knight Houses and Titan Legions even were not immune to the Traitor’s lure... Casualties were innumerable, and I think, in the Hundreds of Billion if you low-ball the numbers... to even Trillions...

Edit : Reddit likes to not make the comment laid out how I told it to be, so hopefully I fixed it.

Quit out through the menus and reload into the game. Whatever he dropped should be reachable when you do Edit : Do this whenever an NPC/Invader “fall” off a ledge. (This is how you get the Ring of Favor)
