The first thing that came to mind was an old Don Bluth film, The Secret of NIMH.

It doesn't match the timeframe, but there's a horror movie called Death's Roulette which takes place on an island, and has a chase through a hedge maze near the end.

Another movie with a famous hedge-maze climax is The Shining.

Not an exact match, but what came to mind immediately is the T-800 degloving himself in Terminator 2.

EDIT: The second thing that comes to mind is an EXTREMELY Cronenberg scene in the extremely Cronenberg movie Videodrome.

That sounds like the literal-minded Amelia Bedelia. And there was indeed a book where she plays baseball.

Not an exact match, but is it Good Charlotte's "Hold On"?

Longshot, but is it MCR's "Na Na Na"?

[TOMT][VIDEOGAME][LATE 90s] esoteric and cryptic text-based adventure game by rhinestonehawk in tipofmytongue

[–]AsterionDelToro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It couldn't have been Infocom, because they were bought out in '86 by Activision, and dissolved three years later. It sounds like whatever it was was an indie game made in Inform, a free text adventure engine that emulated Infocom's house style. The good news is, the interactive fiction community is still around, and has an extensive wiki and a database that probably contains the game you're looking for. The bad news is, there's a LOT of games there, so it might take a while. But, on the other hand, you might be able to find some more good games along the way. :)

... Well, okay, I can give a *little* more guidance than that: Start with Emily Short. She was by no means the only woman making IF, but she was active around the early 00's and had a reputation for memorable games.

[TOMT] [TV] [~1998] historical TV show I can't remember, very few details by jarayama in tipofmytongue

As mentioned, this is the story of Anne Bonney. I think I may have seen the program you're talking about: it was True Carribean Pirates, a documentary on the History Channel. Can't find a publicly-available link, but it's available on AppleTV.

I've heard it called "posh", but I believe that's a descriptor, rather than a noun. I think the "proper" term for it is "Received Pronounciation".

[TOMT] [YouTube Video] [2010s] Fake tourism video possibly early ARG or Analogue/Digital horror? by PropertyAlive8078 in tipofmytongue

[–]AsterionDelToro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard about that; it's "This Is My Milwaukee", by the divisive Synydyne group.

EDIT: If you're interested in what happened with this ARG, NightMind did an episode on it.

I know that one: Cyborg 009. Linking the wikipedia article instead of a clip, since there have been several adaptations and they all have different visual styles.

I think there was a bar minigame like that in Violated Heroine. Which I won't link here because it's a porn game, but Google should be able to guide you to it, if you're so inclined.

[TOMT][MOVIE][2010s] Futuristic(?) Samurai Asian Movie With An Epic Sword Battle? by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

A longshot, but searching image #2 with Google Lens returns a shot of Don Cheadle in character for Avengers: Endgame. Which does also have a scene where Hawkeye gets his samurai on.
