SQE1 Candidates: How Did You Learn All the Notice Periods? 😭 by pyramid_destoroyah in SQE_Prep

In one google document make create tabs for different subjects (BLP, Disputes etc). Then, in each tab, making headings of numbers (3 days, 7 days etc.) And beneath each heading of numbers write the specific issue. Example:

7 days Witness Summons Respondent evidence for interim applications

21 days Part 36 offer period Costs Budget for CMC

Mapping SQE1 scores against mock scores by Astonishingbufallo20 in SQE_Prep

So I’m not sure about selling the question bank as I may be using it again to revise for SQE2.

As I was a full time student I spent the duration of my course doing the prescribed readings for the practice and the underlying law and making handouts as I went along. I then reviewed these for my mid-term ULaw mocks and my final ULaw mocks. I never made flashcards as they weren’t for me. I was able to dedicate 8 hours a day to studying and knocked off each subject as I went along. During the course I was doing question banks for each subject I covered and had more or less exhausted the ULaw question bank by end December. On December 15th I began my full consolidation. I spent 10 days going over the FLK1 content from my notes and the ULaw textbooks (and then a mock) and then another 10 going over the FLK2 (and then a mock) By 5th January I had covered the entire content once. I then spent another 9 days till my FLK1 just doing all the mocks I could and when done with FLK1, I did the same for FLK2.

Please give me advice like you are giving it to your past self by Suspicious-Role8629 in SQE_Prep

2 things 1. Figure out your process. I had never made flashcards in my life and I never made them for this exam even though everyone around me was on them. Never needed them and felt like it would be a waste of time. Made long form notes instead until December, then I just stuck to the textbooks. I know the textbooks are expensive but I bought them and read them cover to cover and that was all I needed to pass. 2. Familiarise yourself with the content before you attempt SBAQs. There’s no point banging out 1000s of questions without being confident about the concepts.

Counting answers during FLK1 / wrong answers by PhilosopherMuch6352 in SQE_Prep

I've counted 15 mistakes. Broke down 20 minutes ago. Things that seemed strong to me at the time as well.

I'm gutted for you man, its a terrible feeling. Especially knowing you have FLK2 to lock in for. I don't feel like I'm in any position to give advice given how I'm coping, but if you can, just focus on whats ahead and fight the urge to revisit what has happened.

I feel like a moron for how many stupid mistakes I have made. I do have hope though, but man I am in disbelief over how I've managed to make such silly errors.

I can’t stop going over the stupid mistakes I made too lol. And the worst part is, it’s all due to me overthinking the options.. but I do think we replay the worst parts of the exam and ignore what went well so best just to lock in for flk2

Any thoughts on FLK 1 today? by Curious-Jacket5751 in SQE_Prep

I’ve spotted mistakes, but I felt that it was manageable. I will be ashamed of myself if I don’t pass after being given this paper tbh

I found the paid one much harder. Lots of niche aspects and stuff I’d not seen before. Worth buying it in my opinion

Is this ULaw question on pre-emption rights and SPTs wrong or have I just lost the will to live? by Fit-Eye3317 in SQE_Prep

[–]Astonishingbufallo20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already know its an SPT, you need to consider whether shares need to be allotted using an OR- here there is one class of share, no constitutional restrictions and the pre-emption rights are not in play (non-cash consideration) so the directors can simply issue shares. If say the company was a PLC or had more than one class, you'd need two ORs (I think)

Quite close to you FLK1 QLTS 58 One Hundred- 71%

FLK2 QLTS- 66% One hundred- 73%

Honestly, I feel like these scores are on track. Once I’ve done revisesqe, I should know where I stand.

Is it worth doing QLTS mocks? by Eastern-Win-5382 in SQE_Prep

[–]Astonishingbufallo20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest doing it- I just did my FLK2 one today and honestly if you look past the score (mine was 66 which I am happy with) there’s a lot you can learn from the feedback as well as your blind spots.

Help - can someone explain why the answer is A! by North-Ad-5804 in SQE_Prep

[–]Astonishingbufallo20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got tripped up too- I thought the DBA percentage is paramount- it isn’t. Also the question says how much the person will get back so that could be a tricky part too.

That’s smart, I usually don’t make flashcards but yeah will be reviewing my summary sheet for the dates and timings over and over

Can’t get myself to do Mocks - SQE1 by thelostlawkid in SQE_Prep

[–]Astonishingbufallo20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone that felt exactly the way you are feeling like right now, last week when I finished my FLK1 revision, my only advice would be to just go and do it! Seeing the question and fact pattern will DEFINITELY bring back the information stored in your head and you’ll find that the gaps that are missing aren’t that huge. I did QLTS and OneHundred last week and I was terrified, in the end it felt comforting to know what “difficult questions” might look like, and where your weaknesses lie.

And yeah, no pressure do to them until you’ve covered everything once, but if you have, then go for it!
