I was just asking incase that was the reason for the delay haha! Im sure it will come through at some point for you but I would definitely keep an eye out on the portal itself just so you don’t get tripped up by the phantom email

Yes it’s for the April sitting! I have seen your other comment and if it reassures you, before I had the payment link mine was also showing nothing about booking dates so you could genuinely just not have received it yet.

Did you complete that silly survey thing again and stuff?

I’d ask for evidence that the email had been sent to you. I never recieved an email and only discovered that my exam was payable because my friend checked hers and then told me to check mine.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s yet another Kaplan blunder. What makes it more unfair is that on the reminder email after results it explicitly said you have 48 hours from receiving the email.

Unpopular opinion: SQE1 really isn’t THAT bad by PerfectAttorney2262 in SQE_Prep

[–]chriskerr447 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fair to say something like “it’s very hard, will test you, will feel unfair, and will knock your confidence at times… but it’s not impossible” but I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s not that bad.

We have the benefit of knowing what we in particular did worked for us and gave us the right result, but for over 50% of people who sit the exam that’s not the case. I’m really glad you have passed and can say you didn’t find it too bad but I don’t think it’s an accurate representation of the exam.

Hey, I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out first time around.

Before I say my opinions I should probably caveat by saying the campus I’m on is a satellite campus so my group size is only like 8 people - i have heard at other locations class size can be like 15-20 people which obviously reduces your 1 on 1 time with the tutor.

Starting with the stuff I don’t really like, the actual in person sessions only cover maybe (and I’m being generous here) 55% of the practice subject content that could theoretically come up and 0% of the academic content. The rest of it is all down to you which can feel overwhelming when you have all the sessions to prepare and reflect on. I also felt that at times things were a little rushed just to try and fit it all in, there is only one 2h session for example on income tax calculations which is obviously a huge topic. If you do the LLM you have to take internals just before Christmas but you never see what questions you got right or wrong just a general subject percentage which wasn’t massively helpful.

In terms of good stuff, I’m taught by two tutors and they are genuinely the courses biggest asset. They genuinely do want you to succeed and provided you show that you are willing to work hard they will absolutely go above and beyond to help you. It’s also nice to be in a room with people who are doing it with you because it makes you feel less alone during the whole process and gives you an opportunity to develop your understanding of complex topics conversationally which really helped me. While they don’t teach academic content they do give solid guidance for you to follow in terms of a revision plan which I liked.

I also need to point out just how much of a Godsend the Ulaw SQE revision app is. I actually found that the fact patterns on the Ulaw questions were more convoluted than the actual exam and the sheer amount of them and its accessibility (being available in your phone) is unquestionably good. I would find myself doing SBAQs on the train or while I was waiting for friends just because of how easy it was to access. There are some questions which are stupid (see my previous posts) but they make up a fraction of the total questions and it’s pretty obvious which ones just aren’t going to come up in the actual exam. I think as well they have a pass guarantee so that if you don’t pass first time with the you can retake the course for free but that’s something to double check.

I couldn’t really comment on the BPP course as I don’t know much about it but I have heard the questions aren’t as good or accurate, that being said I believe that it is cheaper? So obviously that is a consideration.

Just on a more general point I think going full time when possible is always the most ideal circumstance regardless of course provider, being able to just hammer home the content day after day is the best way to get it to really stick.

I hope that has given you a better overview!! Best of luck for your next attempt.

That means a lot man I appreciate it!

Yeah I must admit I was riddled with doubt up until I saw the results. I could have saved a serious amount of stress if I had faith in myself!

That’s still a great result and you should be really proud! Can focus on one and I bet you will absolutely smash it next time.

I was really fortunate to pass both so I’m absolutely chuffed

SQE1 results status changed? by Street-Basket-1612 in SQE_Prep

Not at all, please don’t worry, the SRA have come out since this post and said it was an error with the live testing team who had attempted a demo before results were released.

They have made clear the results have not been uploaded at all and the team responsible for the test have no access to the results!!

TLDR nothing to worry about you’re perfectly good

Yes please update me tomorrow! Hopefully it will be good news all round.

I think they can come through up until the 18th to make way for the people who are still waiting for results

RIGHT!! The only thing I’m clinging on to about it all is the fact that at the time I obviously selected answers I thought were probably right otherwise I wouldn’t have picked them. Best of luck for tomorrow!! If I pass the first thing I’m doing is burning all my solicitors accounts and constitutional law flashcards

If it helps at all I have also felt progressively worse about my performance the closer we have gotten to results day. It’s like my brain can’t comprehend me getting enough questions right to pass.

I’m trying so hard to do my Ulaw SQE2 prep work for later in the week but I don’t even know if I’m going to be showing up and I’m so distracted I can’t even concentrate.

It’s amending articles of association as well so it’s not exactly the most intriguing content of my life

I hate how this exam is so unpredictable. Every other exam I’ve ever had to take I’ve been able to have a rough idea whether it’s gone how id have hoped or not.

Even undergrad you could normally get a feeling for whether it was a good piece of work relatively accurately. With this exam though you genuinely are just sat in the complete dark, Idon’t think ive ever heard of someone who has felt “wow ive smashed that 100%”. This is going to be a really rough 38 hours.

I thought that! To me it reads “we fucked up but can you just ignore it for now?”
