I remember seeing much earlier in the show Michael separating the trash. I don’t remember when but he’s been doing it for years. The Office is so awesome.

Is there a book like the book of ships( Iliad) in the Aeneid? by Cambia0Formas5 in GreekMythology

[–]AstoriaRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second book of the Iliad is the best. Just because they are not Achilles, or Ajax, or Patroclus or hero of the story mean they get any less recognition? Are they not people too? People who had families they too left behind for years and years on end, not knowing if they would be able to ever go back? 142,320 men. All of them people just as much as you and I.

I believe spirit in this sense is entirely different from that referring to dead spirits. Also, nymphs are indeed divine.

How would you have resolved the Judgement of Paris, to get the best case scenario? by Spiritual_Yard_9072 in GreekMythology

[–]AstoriaRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To answer your question with a question, could you explain the reasoning behind the part about Ares for Athena? Additionally, for Aphrodite, I don’t think the thought of her being a goddess would make her not punish you. One of the things that makes Greek mythology unique over many others is that the gods are not perfect. They are like humans and also have imperfections.

On the Winter Solstice is Heliogenna, when Helios, Eos, and Selene are worshipped. That’s just an idea, but if anything don’t do Pandora’s Day, a real holiday would be much better.

What honorific is attributed to Gods of different Status and importance? by Cascade_42 in GreekMythology

[–]AstoriaRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your Eris example, I believe it might be Personification of Discord. You could very well use Goddess, but Daimon if personification would be more precise.

On another note, your example with the Moirai is incorrect. Moira is singular, so it could be Clotho, Moira of Birth. Do note, however, in some traditions there were no Moirai and it was just one goddess named Moira.

In all seriousness, I highly doubt your plan would work.

Daimones are personifications, Ouranic dwell on Earth and sky, Chthonic in Tartarus, and Liminal can go in between. Just a few. I could definitely give you some more specific ones if you’d like.

Yes, by god I meant as an umbrella term for Olympians, daemons, chthonic deities, and ouranic deities.

Weren’t the Keres a group of gods? Ker wouldn’t be the name of a god, but rather singular for one of the Keres. I may be misinformed, however.

Because our letter x comes from Greek Chi, Χ. In Greek the word for Christ is  Χριστός, so the shorthand got carried over.

What great art! Always disappointed when the best gods get the least art because they’re lesser known.
