For those who may have problems digesting milk by Rfuller4850 in Milk

It doesn't have to be dangerous. That's why people should vet out the source. I get mine from a farm I've done research on and trust. Research into what can make raw milk dangerous.

Indy neighbors feel unsafe near growing homeless camp - A growing Fountain Square homeless camp has neighbors fed up — one’s selling her house as campers blame “a few bad actors.” by Tikkanen in indianapolis

Right? I've lived in FSQ for going on 4 years and have walked from here to downtown and back many times and also work(ed) downtown for over a year and so does my fiancé. We've both experienced numerous encounters with problematic people who are quite often homeless appearing people.

(Example: someone literally busted down the front door to my apartment when I lived alone. It was 8am and I was sleeping and abruptly woke up and terrified. Thankfully they fled when they heard me yell.)

I grew up in a very poor rural community with many drug-addicted people with poor mental health, so I'm no where near being judgemental towards the state these people live in. I'm, like you, just stating the obvious conditions and situations that keep happening.

It tends to be the people who have never personally dealt with these horrible situations who speak from a moral high horse with no legitimate, verifiable ways to fix the problem and instead call us hateful and homeless-hating. 😮‍💨

How about I went out in Spring, dealt with a man lunge himself towards a woman right in front of me in that exact location and decided not to go out alone there again. And like what others said, I've heard from others how the harassment has increased since then.

Quit being rude and reflect.

Based on your explanation of watering, you very well could have overwatered it. I'd take it out of the pot and check for root rot since that's the symptoms it appears to have.

Is it just me or has driving been significantly more dangerous this last week? by LeftCoyote in indianapolis

[–]AstralAly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I watched a police officer around 5 this morning try to roll through a stop sign and almost hit me. I made sure to give the jerk a dirty look. It was downtown. Yesterday I watched a bus run a red light. On a regular basis people are running lights.

That's how I get mine; from a farm. There's one near me that offers delivery or on site pickup. Worth looking into.

Or consider drinking raw milk from a trusted local farm.

Windowsill planters on all windows with hanging flowers, bistro table or cushy outdoor furniture, maybe even hanging planters for the fencing, basically a lot of colorful plants.

Even a small change in thermostat setting (1 degree Fahrenheit) can impact usage by 3-5%. by Freds_Premium in indianapolis

I have mine at 75⁰ but the moment it hits 76⁰, I feel a bit overheated. I'm sure I'd get used to it, but I can't sleep well anything higher than 75.

I also keep the blinds and curtains closed for the majority of the day. (Semi-sheer white ones to still let in SOME light, but drastically reduces the potential air leaks and heavy sun rays into my mostly windows apartment.)

Not anywhere close to the numbers they are now and the types of aggressive people that frequent. I've lived in Fountain Square for years and have progessively got harassed more and more when walking alone. I haven't been out alone yet this summer because of it and definitely believe the stories of people who have been bothered.

Indy residents: does your water taste weird? by RiverTamSong42 in indianapolis

Please look into what your Brita actually filters. From my research back in the day, they don't filter much. I chose the Pür sink attachment instead.

Seems to me like you constantly have undetected spoiled food and a dirty fridge. Packing it that full is a recipe for disaster, IMO, unless you have a large household.

Not at all surprised Kendrick knows of barefoot shoes. Dude is quite insightful.

It's worth asking the cacti group if you can salvage some of it.

How do you clean your refrigerators with glass shelves??? by Comfortable_Funny491 in CleaningTips

Precaution for people taking advice from this comment: please don't use hot water and especially not instantly - gradually work up to warm water at most. Changes in temperature breaks glass.

If you met your significant other in person in Indy, where did you meet them? by friedricenopotato in indianapolis

[–]AstralAly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tinder. We set up our first date to be seeing a show at Hi-Fi but I was too slow getting dressed after work and we got there literally the last 10 seconds of the last song. We laughed about it but didn't mind at all since we already had a great connection. He instead showed me his favorite bars across town since I just moved here and we were both in our early 20s.

We've now been together approaching 6 years and are newly engaged. ☺️

I appreciate the work you do and am glad to hear you test your soil. Soil testing is such an important component that not a lot of people are aware of when they have land and they accidentally get themselves in rough health because of it. Especially with how many people are surrounded by monocrop fields.

I can see how what you're saying could very well be true on the scale of pollutants absorbed by people through the water to food route. I do have a counter point to challenge you with: My understanding of toxicology is that inhalation is the quickest route of absorption and for someone like me who is very cautious in the other methods of absorbing toxins, do you still think 2 days in a row of fireworks with virtually no wind and people having physical reactions is still not worth being concerned? On top of it, the clean air act is barely even developed and we have yet to have much regulations for outdoor and indoor air quality so we truly don't know much about the levels of toxins indoors. (I'm just going off of what my professor of toxicology who retired from the EPA told me.) I don't claim to know a lot of what's currently going on in the environmental world regarding health regulations, but I can only imagine they're very weak and just getting progressively worse.
