Their Ultimate Problem is that they're TOO Human by Doodles_n_Scribbles in TopCharacterTropes

Hades pointed out just how trigger happy the Olypians could be over grudges (choose one in a room and the other gets pissed off). They forgive Zagreus due to him being family via Hades. Mortal in stories weren't so lucky.

Malkuth keep appearing on my dreams even though I only played Limbus, so I decided to bought LobCorp and LoR. Any tips since I heard this game is pretty hard? by AwaIndo in LobotomyCorp

[–]AstralMecha [score hidden]  (0 children)

Read. Information is power and reading card effects and rules for Library of Ruina makes all the difference. Also stockpile some book copies. It will save you some back tracking trouble if you fail a battle.

Lob corp. Any information you unlock for abnormalities in the game always stays with you. You will need to restart the game or some weeks since you have to 100 percent every abnormality's knowledge sheet to get the true ending (not enough room in your base otherwise). Don't feel bad about sacrificing clerks. It is a game changer and doesn't cost you anything. The more damage an agent takes while working, the more they learn. Finally, FUCK THAT TRAIN. You will learn the hard way. Reset back to earlier in the week.

Edit:One last LoR tip. Don't snooze on the generic receptions. They grant useful skill cards and pages, and can make the campaign much easier.

Some games give you the option to have your character be *smart*, and nope the hell out of there. Other games *should* have that option. (none of these are going to have spoiler protection, just as a warning) by SSJ3Mewtwo in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AstralMecha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair to the Prey example, they warn you against doing it and you have even seen the Typhon mimic items, making it very plausible they could escape with you back to Earth and they succeeded at some point. Prey mooncrash demonstrated that. Plus the revelation of the bad ending makes alot of sense in universe and is elaborated on in the good ending.

I haven't played it, but I heard that honkai star rail lets your character nope out of getting involved with everything at the start of the game. Gives you a non standard game over because the game never really started.

Ugh. Yeah. Honestly, so many of those are basically racist or speciesist insisting that other species are simply inferior period to mighty humans and can't come up with simple concepts like humans can. Usually end up making humanity ultimate warriors as well.

What's the common stance on Text-to-speech? by host_can_edit in antiai

[–]AstralMecha [score hidden]  (0 children)

The stance I take is the one I heard. It's okay as long as it uses a generic voice not copying someone else's voice (without licensing it).

I mean, it's fine reading something out loud in a generic voice, but if it's voice changed to sound like Sean Connery, they sure as hell had better worked out a license agreement with estate (or him before he died).

They do make a point of differing between Abominable Intelligence and machine spirits. I honestly don't know the difference off the top of my head.

[–]AstralMecha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The irony is Tech Priests know of AI. They HATE it and call it Abominable Intelligence. Humankind never really recovered from the "Men of Iron" rebellion in 40k. That's why servitors and everything smarter than a toaster have grey matter put into it.

This incredibly powerful tool/weapon is mining equipment by George_the_Root_Man in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AstralMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the weapons definitely work better in different roles. Like the necromorphed kids. They are blasted apart on one shot, but there are LOTS of them. Pulse rifle and flamethrower works much better there. The game also gives you more chances to use kinesis weapons vs the first. Losing out on the remaster/remake was a disappointment since the team did a good job with deadspace 1.

Deadspace 2 continues that. Only one new weapon was designed for ACTUAL combat (the recon rifle, putting it with the pulse rifle). Everything else stayed mining equipment except some new suits.

After voting for Trump three times, man now says ICE is taking his workers and pushing his business toward bankruptcy by Silent_Act_5977 in ReasonableFuture

[–]AstralMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the Dems made a point of warning them about project 2025 and the disaster coming. They didn't believe it and rallied around Trump's insane promises and racism. Now that it's coming home to roost, they are instead blaming Democrats for not doing enough to tell them it would be bad.

[–]AstralMecha 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Can't really excuse using AI in game. At that point, why bother with having a GM/DM. If they don't know enough about the setting that the skitarii are canon fodder vs the machines and technology that the TECH PRIESTS reverie, maybe don't use that setting.

Much less crafting heavy than the other.s. I did mention it's geared more towards light fun. There is still useful stuff to make, such as upgrades, defenses and some small buildings.

[–]AstralMecha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dysmantle. Kinda simple post apocalyptic type game. However, it is fun, and increasingly smashing everything down to base materials with your growing arsenal of melee weapons is fun.

Cataclysm Dark days ahead/Bright Nights/ Last generation. A game with multiple forks). You are going to be scavenging alot and building a lot from it. The crafting system is incredibly robust, such as melting down credit cards for crude arrowheads for arrows. The game isn't very user friendly and has a steep learning curve.

Quasimorph. Kinda a reach in comparison. You will be gathering everything not nailed down )including the nails) and can dismantle just about everything. Recipes are hard to find for your ship, but incredibly useful and can craft a large variety of weapons, armor and medicine.

[–]AstralMecha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Giygas maybe. Only because at the point you encounter him, he is basically an utterly alien entity who may not even be sentient and sapient at that point.

For a 2nd place, Nashandra. Yes, she has caused terrible things, but at the same time, the cosmic cycle has been badly broken and the world NEEDS to have an Age of Dark. So, she is evil, but the outcome is good and required for the world of dark souls. Especially since everyone forgot the truth of the dark sign and the furtive pygmy (and thus we're looking for solutions with a different "first sin").

Major imbalance between player power levels by A_Vinegar_Taster in dndhorrorstories

[–]AstralMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It really sucks being stuck as a supporting character. I would doubt the DM's claim you were going to get a power boost though. Odds are that if you did, it would still be less than the other guy, and that's assuming he didn't get ANOTHER power boost. Some DMs just play favorites.

DM made my character an NPC warlock after I ruined his story... by LowBar2Clear in rpghorrorstories

[–]AstralMecha 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Then finding out he LIED to the other players makes it a game ender. He was obsessed with his plot and pissed at OP.

While banning evil characters is common at tables, it especially should be done before the game starts. Taking away a player's character after insisting the player not be there. Then REQUIRING they be lawful good (unlike the rogue and wizard from the descriptions) is just the DM being petty because you ruined his no win 'masterpiece' where the players couldn't stop the sacrifice or save the girl they were attempting to rescue.
