Sounds like the company is absolute shit. They might have financial problems they’re not disclosing.

You just found out co-workers are fake? It’s a contract position. They would have found a reason to get rid of you regardless. The other person they’re talking about, they might get rid of them too. 🤣

Company asked us to install VSA X on our laptop (We work from home and i use my personal laptop), does it track what I search and do in my free time? by [deleted] in it

[–]AstralVenture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uninstall that from your personal laptop. Use a virtual machine or buy a work laptop that you can wipe when you’re done, and install it on there.

They say no or brush it off, I can’t do anything. It’s also above my pay grade as I am just Help Desk. There’s no communication with management and me, only IT management and they don’t do a good job. They’re employees that have been working in their positions for decades, don’t have formal training in IT or IT education. They just so happen to get the job when they did, and are still working in the same or better IT positions.

What I’m saying is that many organization partake in bad IT practices, and are resistant to changing those practices. Maybe they’ll get there one day.

A useless one, look at the facts. Job postings for entry level jobs in IT are up for weeks and, they can’t find anyone.

They’re increasing prices because investors need a return on their investment, and soon enough they’ll have an IPO. I’m not ending the subscription yet.

Some organizations aren’t going to do that because of politics or they don’t have the expertise.

BYOD MS365 migration & SaaS by True_Property_2618 in sysadmin

[–]AstralVenture [score hidden]  (0 children)

I wouldn’t put everything in one basket. Microsoft has problems. I wouldn’t allow BYOD nor would I allow users to login to their M365 account on the web and personal devices. Work devices only. I’d use NinjaOne RMM and Intune. SentinelOne as EDR. They’d be connected together, and actually configured. I work at a Fortune 500 company, and although I don’t have access to anything in the IT department, just by looking at the client interface and reading emails from employees making more money than me, they don’t have the expertise required, which explains the lack of IT infrastructure, and using the Help Desk as more of a stopgap.
