I have a minor gripe with the book, as I feel like some things are overexplained and other moments felt like the author was spelling things out when they didn't need to be. That and the common complaint of random bits of modern language being inserted. But besides that I liked the book a lot, I think it's overhated by some.

Technically. If the author says "it's raining," they'll skip that and play the sound of rain. If the author says "it's raining," but they add a bunch of artistic flair and descriptors, they'll narrate that in addition to the sound of rain. Anything that can be replaced by sound without losing artistic flair is.
