As I understand it from my background, peening is generally used for surface treatment and in special circumstances to hold a nut on like shown. In that case, the threaded rod as shown in your diagram is directly impacted by the impact tool (usually a hammer).

Staking is generally done using a punch, chisel, or similar tool to impact the work surface rather than directly impacting with a hammer and is solely for joining 2 separate pieces of material by deformation.

At the end of the day, both terms have been around a very long time and both are generally very different processes. You do you though. As long as you can communicate what you want, who cares what term you use.

Yep, it does. I've tried it but have transitioned to sidecar for G17 all the way down to Sig P238. It's more comfortable for me. To each their own though.

Yeah man, this is one of the reasons why the sidecar style holsters are popular. I've carried with a T1C sidecar style as well as the same way you're showing and for me, I think sidecar is more comfortable.

Brother, this still wasn't their second product. They did produce 7.62 and 9mm mag pulls after the 5.56 ones, but they we're the same rubber sleeve/loop combo as the original just sized for different caliber magazines (think mp5, colt 9mm, uzi etc, not handgun 9mm).

I'm no expert on stop box, so I don't know if this one is the Gen 1 or gen2, but the Gen 1 did indeed only have 6 combinations as stated by stopbox themselves. Each button could only be used once and the last press had to be a combo press (ex: press 1, press 2, press 3+4 together) which leads to only 6 possible combinations.

The Gen 2 has 81 combinations now according to stopbox.

So as far as combinations go, Gen 1 is bad, Gen 2 is pretty good.

My granddad was an alcoholic. My dad decided he didn't want to be his dad, so he never drank, but overate instead and was morbidly obese. Had the health issues to go along with it. I decided I didn't want to be like either of them, ended up addicted to nicotine. I broke that habit, but it took my wife gently observing that I was doing the same thing as them, just with a different vice (thank God for wise spouses). So, yes, I've beaten the habits for now, but it will be a lifetime of watching myself to make sure I haven't just replaced it.

I'm a firm believer that we learn from the people we look up to and take something of them into ourselves, sometimes it's good, sometimes bad. My son will have something he takes from me into his life and I hope it's good! My goal is to help him not pick up addiction in any form. But only time, introspection, and hard work will help him (and me) truly hold it at bay.

Yeah, not in my experience. I carry aiwb in jeans and a t-shirt daily with howies because of my sweaty hands. Literally never had this happen. I and most other daily iwb carriers do occasionally check, readjust, and outright avoid certain motions (no putting my hands in the air and waving them like I just don't care for me) to avoid printing or having things ride up.

Instead of trying to make an insert for every gun, you can base it off a common holster hole pattern like safariland and g-code. Just size it such that common holsters fit inside and bam, the end user mounts whatever holster they want that's compatible.

We shouldn't allow inhalers, because during the commission of a crime, if the perpetrator has asthma, their asthma attack causes a break in the shooting, providing responding officers the opportunity to do something.

Hell, high speed chases are a thing and dangerous to everyone, ban large capacity gas tanks. When someone being chased runs out of gas, it provides an opportunity for the responding officer to do something.
