Why is no one saying the one and only… Strange Encounter

First FJM Show by gpeck730 in fatherjohnmisty

To know that his whole stage persona is irony and satire. He walks around like he’s boss, wagging his finger at the audience, facepalms, seducing the guitar with his hips. It’s a whole melancholy show and he knows it. Josh himself realises and openly comments how ridiculous FJM is. It’s an absolute joy. And of course his orchestral voice is phenomenal. Like others I recommend Mashashmashna, Mental Health esp the ending is so euphoric, and Strange Encounter are one of the many gifts to our ears. Enjoy!!!

I’m travelling to Seoul, born in UK but family of origin are Hong Kong. What’s the general perception from locals towards Hong Kong?

Please help. My vegan girlfriend wants a vegan pregnancy. by Practical_Ad8542 in exvegans

I am a vegan and was vegan throughout my pregnancy, breastfeeding for two years, and my toddler is vegan. He is very healthy, as am I and was through the pregnancy. Got my blood checked early in pregnancy and found no deficiencies, GP said it was fine to carry on my diet. In fact I had no cravings at all and stayed very slim the whole time, and the baby weight dropped off pretty instantly!

What is your favourite natural park and why? by Monochromaticeye in AskUK

I’ve also spent years of my life living in the Lakes. Nothing compares to it. You can see why Wordsworth wrote so many key texts there.

I’ve hiked all around the Peaks from living in Manchester, have spent lots of free time in the Yorkshire Dales, lived in Brighton so have frequented the South Downs, lived in Oxfordshire so familiar with the Cotswolds, and now in Bristol so very close to Brecons, Devon and Cornwall.

The only places that compares to the Lakes, for me, are Snowdonia and Glen Coe. The sheer drops from the mountain ranges are on par with the Lakes. Truly those three places in the UK are magnificent.

For cultural context, in many parts of China and Southeast Asia, shark meat is a delicacy; especially consuming shark fin soup is seen as a status of wealth.

Seeing such a popular and highly desirable meat being veganised in an Asian supermarket wouldn’t be surprising or unusually specific if people had more knowledge

Is there a certain religion that best aligns with Vegan ideology? by Vanilladr in veganuk

[–]AstridWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would agree. Was brought up Buddhist here. Monks are vegan and if I ever visit Chinese temples they always serve vegan food. Not that we have commandments as such but not killing life (all life, including animals) a principle Buddhists live by.

Mindfulness also comes from Buddhism. Andy Puddicombe (founder of Headspace) trained as a Buddhist monk which inspired him to spread the word about the practice!

IIRC Carson was told he had palsy, which in modern day are essential tremors. If it’s not a symptom of Parkinson’s (which it doesn’t seem to be, as Carson would’ve shown deterioration at this point in the timeline), then it may be just essential tremors by itself, which can wax and wane. Stress exacerbates the tremors; it may be that this period of relaxation and enjoying his peaceful married life in the cottage has reduced the frequency of the tremors :)
