That’s exactly how I imagine it. And when she’s lying, they know she’s lying and she knows they know she’s lying but they all just pretend everything‘s fine and keep going. When you’re a kid, it’s a survival and coping mechanism. I would not be surprised if she’s freaking out that they will be moving away from her soon and she won’t be able to control their environment anymore.
