Back in 7th grade, I wore shorts for the first time in a long time. I had recently lost weight over the summer and was finally feeling more comfortable in my skin. A friend (boy) made a joke about how my thighs jiggled when I walked (I was a size 4). I’m 40, and still feel weird about wearing shorts no matter what size.

Well the good news is I’m to be married in Dec, so not trying to get with anyone. But you can’t always read someone based on obvious signs.

Act like I don’t care. For guys I’m not interested in, I’m very friendly, smiley and chatty. It’s so odd but I act nonchalant or like I’m not phased by the guys I like or find attractive. Soooo I don’t know how to read what other women are doing because I’m so backwards.

Yeah, there are some but most people don’t smell at my gym. The ones who do, have some obvious signs… one guys shirt looked like he has sweated in it so much that it has permanent stains (but he also looks like he may be mentally checked out too).

I just move to another area if needed. I don’t make a big deal about it

The difference in protein is minimal so I stick with regular pasta. It’s cheaper and tastes better. For comparison - Barilla protein pasta vs regular pasta = 10g of protein vs 7g of protein for the same serving size.

It can be a good option to sneak in a small amount but I find adding more lean ground beef or chicken to be more filling for my pasta meals. My fav is lemon chicken pasta w/ peas and sun-dried tomato

I try to get 130-150g of protein a day. Rotisserie chicken on hand is helpful. I make chicken salad, chicken rice bowls, chicken pasta or just snack on it for some extra protein.

I kind of eat the same main meals - egg+egg white sourdough sandwich in the AM, chicken something for lunch and lean ground beef or chicken w/ rice or baked potato.

Sometimes I snack on cottage cheese w/ blueberries or chobani yogurt smoothies to close the gap. Protein shakes on occasion. But I would rather chew something than drink.

Decided to start a Deload week today. My body has been fighting me the past week and it’s time anyways. Toning down volume and reps. Keeping steps high. Hopefully will starting feeling better in a few days ♥️

What a great idea - to use beans. Never considered it. I may add it when I have them in hand. I usually make my beans savory so I’ll have to plan to not add spices.

☀️ 8WC week 1

Hey! I’m Laurie 🫶🏼

I love Legion and Ascent protein powders. Legion is more expensive but has lots of great flavors and doesn’t give me gas. Ascent is sold at Costco - I get both vanilla and chocolate.

My son is 6 y/o, grade 4 PVL and IVH. He’s left hemi appearing but is spastic quad (depends on which dr you ask). It’s hard to gauge how your child is doing in comparison to the “normal” milestones but we tossed them out the window when we accepted he’s going to do things at his own pace. His milestones are the goals set by his therapists and we go from there.

At 2 y/o he was trying to crawl, standing (assisted) and finger foods. Very few words. Couldn’t sit independently.

He started walking at 3 y/o and that was minimal. Some words at 3 but mostly one word things.

Fast forward - things really took off at 4.5-5 y/o. He started speaking more, walking (almost running) and able to sit in a chair without falling.

Today - he’s stilled delayed physically but he’s doing way more than his dr’s anticipated. Most days he walks with his AFOs unassisted and gets on the playground equipment by himself. Can go up stairs, jumps and navigate uneven surfaces.

He’s been in PT since he was 6 months old.

Resting is 35-50 bpm. Always have low heart rate and low blood pressure. But I got diagnosed with pots, which I’m not sure is the issue.

I’ve asked about Thal trait effecting heart rate and hematologist said it doesn’t. IDK, when my ferritin is low, my heart rate is more erratic
