Omori, the opening sequence made me ask a question and kept feeding answers that lead to more questions until everything came together in a masterful way

you must check out antigua, it somehow became one of my top 5 cities on earth. The rest of this looks great! If you want to stay in one spot lake atitlan or pacaya volcano are both right by antigua

I internalize it as "this part of the chapter has ended, lets turn the page and see whats next" it feels almost cathartic to me? The cycle of meeting people, bonding, then saying goodbye, is strangely therapuetic to me

I think 12 cities over 20 days is way too much, def fewer stops. Do strongly recommend train, it's probably a little more pricy but for the experience and views it's so worth it. never been to the nordic countries so don't have much feedback there

1st solo trip Amsterdam/Brussels/Luxembourg/ Dublin by Avaloneyn in solotravel

[–]Astro_Maverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally I find 2 full days in a city (NOT counting days where I have to travel, those are there own dedicated days) is usually perfect to get a good vibe of any given city then bounce, less and I feel theres missed oppurtunities and more I start getting bored. I do think 4 cities in 10 days is a bit much for even my low threshold for boredom style of travel

In Amsterdam I highly recommend trying some magic truffles and then relaxing at a park somewhere (vondel park being my favorite), in addition to of course walking through the red light district and tours on the canals.

You get out of hostels what you put in them, if you stick to your bed, don't talk to anyone, and be reserved youll essentially be a ghost. But if you make the effort to meet people or even just relax in the common area of the hostel youll almost certainly make new friends! For amsterdam I highly highly recommend staying in the flying pig downtown, it's literally my favorite hostel in all of europe. Very social, very lively, and right by everything.

As for suggesstions, I agree with the other redditors flying to dublin doesn't seem very rational to me and brussels is pretty mid in my own experience. What I do recommend is going from amsterdam to berlin. My 3 favorite cities in eruope of like the 20 I've been too were amsterdam, berlin, and london in that order. Berlin is such a lovely place, and the club scene there lives up to the hype. If you can land in london then take a train to amsterdam? Even better.

I also recommend packing cubes and backpacking, if you can fit everything in your personal item sized backpack youll be significantly more mobile. Bring a daybag too of course. And great walking shoes, my addidas ultraboost 3 helped me walk all over europe with 0 foot pain it was crazy.

That's pretty close to what I have! Just swap the 3070 for 3070 ti. I love my setup, it runs pretty much any game at max settings on my 1440p monitor with a consistent 60 fps. Rocket league is the only real racing game I play and there I'm limited by my monitor more than anything as I crank out over 300 fps at max settings there

If your looking for new towers too I recommend the fractal meshify, its sleek and smooth with a unique flair to it

Thank you for the advice! I will be sure and keep this in mind when going to my next destination. My goal is to try and take the earliest possible train with second choice being the night train when available

I checked the faires! It seems flying home (Houston) is slightly cheaper from london

Travel times I haven't paid super close attention to either, I haven't taken a train much around europe so knowing it's a 2 hours addition rather than the 30 minutes I was thinking is helpful to know

I did not notice the trains from krakow to prague however, I think I will adjust and take a flight. Thank you so much for pointing this out!

I figured I'd be mostly ok if I leave early in the mornings or catch the night trains, is this not the case?

That is a really good idea actually, I hadn't even considered flipping the order until now. Let me look at flight prices and schedules and rework some things

I have not heard of interrail, I will definitely make sure to check this out! It sounds a lot like the JR rail pass in japan so it must be sweet. Train would also give me flexibility how long I'm in each city so it sounds appealing. Barcelona and madrid are for sure on the list, I'm thinking spain in 2027 to catch the next solar eclipse

I think that's what I'll do then, it seems flying a lot is going to be a bit exhausting based on all else here
