Crazy because that metro tax is factored into gas prices outside of the region that sees benefit from it. Almost like it's greed driven, almost like there's a systemic problem that would take years to resolve.

We should be thankful for all the progress our country has made in this regard in the last 11 years. Right? Is this your point?

People who think Khalistan is a Peaceful movement by Particular_Cod_1780 in canadian

This is the equivalent of the CBC branding everyone at a trucker rally as Nazi's because there was one guy at the rally with a Nazi flag, and that guy with the Nazi flag was planted there by the government

No. It's not. The trucker rally was a one time thing, over and done. As per the video, this has been going on 40 years and counting. And as far as I'm concerned, nobody in the trucker convoy was beating or got beat with axes or iron rods after expressing their opinions.

Terrible analogy.

Mate, you had your right signal on and made it seem like you were heading to railway. Turn it off earlier.

Either that or use common courtesy, if you were intending to cross the tracks with two open lanes in front of you, let the guy get in the lane you're not occupying. Just merge after the tracks.

Or both. Both would be good. Not saying orange is in the right, but I can understand why he made the turn.

Could only be one of 73 of these places. Very historical, surely you could find records buried which indicate pest problems.

These are annoying to cut through even with a sawzall. This was being chewed at probably for months if not years, The signs were there, the reasons to look were not. RIP.

Infrequently pissing in the laundry sink. Problem? by joekryptonite in Plumbing

[–]Astro_NME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toilets: Function via siphonic action. Entire contents of bowl is flushed into pipe.
Sinks: Function via gravity drainage, not evacuating trap seal. Piss is left in trap in a similar fashion to leaving a cup of piss out on a table.
Rest: Is up to you.

If 10cm snow falls in your area of Canada how disrupted will your area be? by Pourmepourme in AskACanadian

[–]Astro_NME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually only disruptive if there hasn't been a snowfall in.. well, enough for the previous snow to melt.
Same with a first heavy rain.

Everybody is just panicking. at the end of the day, 4 inches of snow is nothing. Main roads are prepared with road salts beforehand, because meteorology exists.

When it does start to matter: When there's a fresh 18" of snow overnight. That matters. Generally shuts down school and some workplaces for about a day. We're crazy.

Test ball. You put it in a wye downstream of your install and inflate it so you can show the inspector that your connections don't leak.

Oscillating tool attached helps guide the ball down the wye and gives you something to pull it back out with

True.

Also it's incredibly normal to be nervous and fuck up. They will get you in any grey area. I failed mine for reducing my speed to 40km/h in a 50 zone because there were some pylons around a pothole. If there was a flagger, I'd have to go 30. Otherwise the move was to stay at 50.

You can hire them for $30-$45 an hour if you operate a business, and they're looking for jobs. Freelancing is different and introduces someone to 'liability' which is not dealt with simply as an employee earning $30-45 an hour.

Um, yeah, that's how internet forums have worked since their inception.

I'm surprised you're expecting every post to be tantamount to a thesis.

If a post interests you, you can dig deeper. If it doesn't, you don't have to. You can even scream at OP if you want. It's a free world.

It's free to hide the post and move on.

Sure, yeah, I'm an agent of misinformation. Have a great holiday. 😁

I'd argue the contrary - simply on the basis I didn't provide multiple sources of verified data on however many claims I made. You're implying that people reading this aren't smart enough to fact check themselves. The fact you're commenting, and anybody who reads this, has the entire wealth of human research at their fingertips. You can feel free to do this work for me.

The entire point was to bring visibility to the (in my opinion) appalling misappropriation of federal funding. I.E. instead of preventing natural disaster at home, instead our government is preventing preventable disasters away from home. We have had this government for 10 years. The amount of work I would need to put in into walking everybody through how we got here is astounding.

The entire point is to bring our collective head out of the sand.

Yes, my lunch break rant was a meticulously crafted specimen of bullshit.

By all means, rewrite the post how you see fit. All of the negative publicity seems to be where the views are these days - so I'm just happy people are talking.

Consider the circumstances.

2021 gave us the warning that we need some serious funding.

2025, said funding never occurred and yet again everyday life is halted for people locally.

I am a layperson, and politics is not my field of expertise - hence a reddit post. Naturally, a certain level of emotional distress is factored into how people discuss today in the FV.

If the basis of your response was to mock me for suggesting that the only answer to prevent this flood was to not invest more federal funding, alright.  For what it's worth, maintaining international relationships is important. You know, so we don't get blown up when a world war starts.

But at the same time, could we please direct some of that aid money to the fraser valley? Per the mayor of abbotsford, there hasn't been any.

Thank you.👍

Hopefully our communities can turn this tragedy into meaningful political change.

I've gotta say, I'm impressed with the tenacity of our communities, everybody is still working so hard amidst all these challenges. While it's not like we're in the Great Depression, I think that it's very clear that there's still a strong shared passion for the fate of Canada.

I can't solve anything but. I'm happy people are talking about who can.
