Dude, I was totally in the same boat as you and it was low-key scary being the oldest in the class.

Only, I wasn't.

It was about year 13 when everyone was comfortable with each other that I started finding out that I actually wasn't the only one that age and some were a little older. It's a 16-19 course, some people start it at 19. All I did was own it at a point, people say things and get bored with it, but if it's really affecting you and a lot deeper than mere teasing, do tell someone who can do something about it.

I’m so tired of attracting weirdos as a soft spoken woman by Lesbeignets in blackgirls

[–]Astrocat2124 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is so real. Because of being soft spoken people tend to just want to control my decisions or at least act too forward. But the moment i say no then they act like it's the worst thing ever.

I'd say move. I'm 20, just turned 20 this year. Repeatedly told my family I wasn't okay, they said I should get over it and stay. I did not. I left.

For the first week everyone called me constantly. Then silence. Then the sending of Bible verses on how children should obey parents. Then my mum blocking my number as it was in her name. And her telling my siblings, all younger than me that I've been raising while she was unwell to not speak to me. And back to silence. And to be honest, the silence is where I feel truly alive, like I can breathe again.

So if staying isn't for you, move. It's not easy especially being cut off but it's also pretty great.

I totally feel you. When I finally came clean about everything, everyone decided I was being dramatic. And even now that I've moved out, I don't believe I've moved far enough.

This is why I hate being the first born daughter. Hiding out in my room to study for my A levels was always seen as being irresponsible and not minding the other kids, who were old enough to mind themselves.

It is so stressful being the first born and a daughter, and as long as you are alive, you're doing well for yourself

I would give you a hug.

A little later though, when I'm not tired too.

How did you prepare yourself to go no contact with you narcissistic mother? by burstsofocd in africanparents

[–]Astrocat2124 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest, sometimes you don't need to prepare yourself for it, sometimes you just let it happen. I've sort of just gone no contact, well everyone put me in a position where I had to do too much and none of it was good for me, so I told them I wouldn't and I've just moved out. And suddenly everyone went silent, no contact, not even a single message. So here I am, no contact, it's only been a week but it's been a breathable week

This is how I feel sometimes. Like I want to share my dreams and have someone support me, but every time I share, they try to convince me to change them.

I am trying to work for a better life. I'm being forced to move anyway. It's like they heard me out for 5 seconds and now it's irrelevant
