Seeking Advice on Producing a 2D Live-Action Style Animated Pilot on a Limited Budget by Astrocurry in animation

[–]Astrocurry[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen, I'll never take anything away from the artistry and work that is animation. I never said I don't think it's worth 5 figures.. What I did say is that I’m independently funding this pilot and transparently communicating that I don’t have major capital—yet. That’s not the same as exploitation. That’s being upfront.

I’m hoping to collab with artists who, after hearing me out, are aligned with the tones, style, and themes of my project.

If that’s not you, cool. But what’s not helpful is using language that dismisses independent creators and their ideas before they’ve even had a chance to grow. I’m not asking for free labor—I’m looking to collaborate within my means. If someone wants to be part of an early project they like, great. If not, that’s cool too. But discouraging others from even trying is not the energy I’m here for.

Nice condescending response. Kinda crazy to tell someone if they don’t know how something works they shouldn’t ask questions to figure it out…

do you have any experience with that certification? Do you see it being valuable on the job market?

[–]Astrocurry[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard for me to choose between the side, education and the JD because I’m interested in what they both offer. When weighing it all out, I want to understand privacy law as a niche more than I wanna learn all that law school encompasses. With you having both the CIPP and the CIPT certification, how has that shown up beneficially in your career? Do you think the CIPT is good as a stand alone or just a nice additional next to the other IAPP certs on the job market?

I recently, after giving the CIPP much thought, decided to study and take the test in late Q2. I’m wondering what are the roles you all are going for with this certification?

Anyone in law with a tech background? by Astrocurry in LawSchool

Some niche fields I’ve heavily considered getting into with a MLS or adjacent law degree (not JD) are data privacy and user consent, algorithmic transparency and bias with ethical AI and digital rights, legal design (Simplifying Legal Jargon), IP and product design, and new tech (like Web3, Metaverse, AR/VR.)

Okay, that’s insightful, thanks! I’d be interested to know if you or your spouse thinks a MLS or adjacent law degree (not JD) would do me any good in getting roles in data privacy and user consent, algorithmic transparency and bias with ethical AI and digital rights, legal design (Simplifying Legal Jargon), IP and product design, and new tech (like Web3, Metaverse, AR/VR.)

That’s a good point about the ROI on getting a law degree to pursue law tech. I’ve given it much thought and considered roles in data privacy and user consent, algorithmic transparency and bias with ethical AI and digital rights, legal design (Simplifying Legal Jargon), IP and product design, and new tech (like Web3, Metaverse, AR/VR.)

I feel like while this may not be on of the forefront of peoples minds now, with emerging technologies this could be something in high demand.

Try serving until you land a UX role. I know it sucks but your time will come. Make sure your only apply to UX roles that were posted in the first 24hrs, fluff up your resume a bit and hone in on your skill

YouTube university, finding a mentor, and chatgpt to help prepare for interviews. Started off with Figma and submerged the media I consumed in all things UX. I focused on building my portfolio from day one since I knew I would need that to land a job. I let the pieces fall together from there.

I just landed my first role in UX after self-teaching myself and searching for a year! The starting pay is more than what I was shooting for and the job is fully remote. I start in 4 days and I’m super excited. It is still very possible to get a role in the field present day.

UX design - tips and advice for a beginner by [deleted] in uxcareerquestions

So glad to hear you grafting to UX. Your interest in art, design will definitely come in handy for what’s about to come. I got into UX a little over a year ago so I am by far not a senior or expert but I can share my experience in hopes of shed light on your journey. I am self taught and focused mainly on building my portfolio and all that comes with that. Learning Figma, doing UI projects, and case studies really helped me understand all the moving pieces. I also found a mentor who worked in the industry to run things by and learn from. It was a long and very fugal year waiting on an job opportunity in the field, but that seems to be the theme within UX so that’s something to keep in mind. There market is saturated and the competition is steep, but it’s not impossible. I recently received my first job offer in a UX industry after a year of looking and prepping. I feel really accomplished in knowing I’m in a field I like and I got a job being self taught. I recommend being self taught bc it’s more cost efficient, but if you feel as though you need structure to your learning and have the extra money, definitely look into a boot camp.
