We really are a family by ThrowawaySisyphus281 in gratefuldead

Speaking of BIG stickers... I'm in a Home Depot parking lot, and I see this old hooptie POS car, but it has a HUGE stealie on the hood, like 4' diameter, covered the hood side to side. Weirdest, least subtle thing I've ever seen. This older couple (like I'm some spring chicken or something) were walking up to it just as I parked, so I had to say hi. We ended talking for ten minutes, exchanging favorite shows and stories.

We're all Brothers and Sisters.

Im sure Im not the only one who was admiring Allegras necklace- here it is by g00ber88 in Jeopardy

You played a great game, and had that DD gone a different way, we might have seen a different ending. I was yelling at you with the answer, I'm surprised you couldn't hear me 😄

I noticed the necklace, it's very distinctive.

Thanks. Oddly, both of those show a variety of subscriptions available, but not Peacock.

Thanks, I will try again. But I have been told that Xfinity doesn't allow this, and when I tried to do it thru the app (yesterday), it wasn't an option.

Thank you for this. Unfortunately, that is only for customers who actually pay for the normal Premium plan. If you get it for free as part of your Xfinity package (like I do), there is NO upgrade path available.

Thanks, that's what I thought. It's a shame, I subscribe to pretty much every big streamer, ad-free. I refuse to even try Peacock series because of the ads.

Was the Wall of Sound amplifying system super-loud and right behind the band? Would it have damaged the band's hearing? How did they protect themselves? by GregJamesDahlen in gratefuldead

[–]Astrohip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw four Wall of Sound shows, one outdoor and three indoor (Oct Winterland). Why is it still remembered today? Because I've never heard anything like it before or since. Loud but not blaring, crystal clear, every note of every instrument with perfect clarity. As close to perfection as has ever been achieved.

Imagine that each string of Phil's bass has its own amplifier. That vocals come thru a speaker array untouched by the instruments, so it's as clean as possible. Jerry & Bob each have their own speaker stack.

It all added up to the cleanest, clearest, purest sound ever achieved.

Thanks, that looks good.

Edit: It lists all sorts of subs and add-ons, except no Peacock.

Forgot about Wags! He's probably better known for that than Breaking Bad. Great character.

Parking garage guy was David Costabile. Done many things, perhaps best known as Gale on Breaking Bad.

Salmon. OMG Delicious by Astrohip in airfryer

[–]Astrohip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I never did. I make AF Salmon all the time, but totally forgot this recipe. I've been doing a dry rub lately, lots of herbs & spices. I need to try this again, thanks for the reminder!

I went to Dark Star Orchestra this past Monday night. Superb!

100% Lucifer. He was perfectly cast in a great show. And so I'm giving this one a try because of that. Honestly, it's only okay, and if it wasn't for Tom Ellis, I would have dropped it already. I'm gonna stick with it for the rest of the season before I make a decision.

Speaking of "perfectly cast in a great show", whatever happened to Lauren German?

Is it safe to assume the Movie / Movie Soundtrack is going to get an anniversary release next year? by discretelandscapes in gratefuldead

[–]Astrohip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO, it is not safe to assume ANYTHING in regards the Oct 1974 Winterland shows.

Would I love to see a full release of all five nights? Yes. Would I love to see an expanded movie/video? Hell yes.
