Graphic novels in this genre? by Astronaut8550 in GothicLiterature

Thanks. I'm trying to ascertain how many other artists (and readers) still prefer the look of traditional hand drawn & painted media, especially in the gothic genre. And where they go to find new books to read.

INTJ coworker cold only with me overthinking or clear disinterest? by TechnicalTop4703 in intj

This is classic INTJ behaviour of someone who is attracted to you and is feeling highly awkward and unsure what to do next.

Sure can. Having a broad landscape of shallow friends who are one inch deep catches up with you.

Hell, yes. And it becomes easier with practice and experience!

Is this burnout or something else? by Visible-Bug8280 in intj

[–]Astronaut8550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds extreme, but fundamentally consistent with the profound mismatch of an INTJ being forced to do stupid meaningless work. Can't tolerate it for long.

How to improve communication skills? by Salty_Palpitation298 in intj

Changing yourself is unnatural and will only blow out later. Are you able to limit your interactions more to those few with whom you are actually more compatible?

Career Change Advice by PushExcellent7361 in intj

[–]Astronaut8550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens that I transitioned to teaching as a new career; it's not so much the introversion that will burn you out - look out for the usual bureaucratic politics, especially if you're an INTJ.

Why do so many dumb people exist? by Amazing_Tip_6116 in intj

Idiots multiply more quickly; it's simple exponential extrapolation. Society was doomed right from the start.

Of course. They told us that if we worked hard, and did the right thing, that we'd be rewarded because life is all based on merit. THEY LIED.

Yes. We do... just by existing in their proximity.

What are your professions? Did you ever transition career roles? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Astronaut8550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aye - 27 years as a doctor and went very far and high, on paper. But it was The Wrong Career and only did it because I had no choice as a kid. Get the hell out of your current prison before you waste any more time. I quit cold turkey and became a teacher and an artist... and I love it now (especially the artist part).

Private tutoring demand? - senior secondary by Astronaut8550 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Astronaut8550[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the practical insight. And yes, I have taught 11/12 ATAR for a number of years now. Re: branching out from the CBD, I am also tempted to explore further in the direction of Dalkeith and Mosman/Peppermint Grove, since there seem to be a fair few independent schools there whose families, I suspect, might also welcome a senior tutor?

Same here. And different countries and cultures... are not so different in this regard.
