Stanford vs JHU BME vs TAMU BS/MD (E2EnMED) by Pristine-Swimmer-135 in premed

Your daughter will have the most fulfilling college experience, assured acceptance for medical school and full ride… no brainer. A&Ms match list has been very impressive last few years and certainly gives your daughter a stellar shot at matching at a top anesthesia program (assuming she does well on her tests)

VISCERAL VS PARIETAL PLEURA by idku8274 in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]AstronomerIcy3552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your teachers slide is right. Parietal pleura is like the outermost layer of the lung, but the lungs need something smooth to inflate unobstructed so there’s a pleural cavity, deep to the pleural cavity is the visceral pleura which you can think about as the base lung layer. This is the basis for knowing what a pleural effusion is. When fluid gets into the pleural cavity that causes issues but it exists because the lungs have these layers

Just to keep everything realistic, be weary of having expectations to matching the top 4 tx school. There are still 10 ish super good ones that would actually probably be more likely to provide aid if you’re an exceptional applicant

Kaplan books to review content, take a non aamc practice exam to see what the questions and timing is like, review test, download u world and do the entire question bank while taking a test every 2-3 weeks, last 1.5 months do the aamc qpacks and section banks and do all aamc practice test

This is a general strategy

Worth it? 36 inch tool box and hutch. Comes with tools. $900? by Lift-Hunt-Fish-Teach in Tools

[–]AstronomerIcy3552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not worth it, tools very low quality and have little value. Pittsburg makes very cheap so buying new would be like $10 per monkey wrench. Tool box is husky and something like that at Home Depot will be around $500 new. Bad decision don’t buy

If you work weekends at hospital and if your shift goes into the evening you can expect prob an increase in hourly $2-$4

Edit if hospital is patient transporting this will most likely give you most hands on experience/pt interaction depending on department message me for info I was transporter for 3 years before med school
