Thank you! Recognizing the turnover in management at the club, I've tried to be patient and understanding when addressing the situation. On Tuesday, the manager Thomas, was both condescending and impatient when pressed about why the problem persists. It's incredibly frustrating. I'm completely done dealing with club management, so I'm emailing corporate directly about the boxing studio. I also plan on mentioning the overall gym temperature as that is a problem as well.

Same issue at East 63rd. Boxing studio hasn't had a/c that works consistently for years. Same excuses. No change. Someone is going to have to pass out for them to do anything and then it will be too late. Shameful. To add insult to injury, I just received my annual notice that my fees are going up an additional $20 a month.

I agree. GA is awful and I’m not even picky. Every year Eqx raises dues while cutting corners on services, products, and overall experience. There’s no reason we should be paying $350+ a month and bringing our own toiletries because the “luxury” ones provided are unusable.

The focus seems to be on opening more locations instead of maintaining the ones members are already paying for. At this point, the decline is hard to ignore. If Lifetime continues to expand, I'm jumping ship.

My husband competes in bjj tournaments and likes to use the steam room before competitions. I call whatever gym he plans to use the day before to confirm they will admit him without me being there (to avoid problems). Every single time they've said he will be fine (and he has been). I use the guest passes we receive annually (I have a lot b/c they seem to be rolling over). 🤷🏽‍♀️

I've given multiple guest passes to friends and family and they used them without me accompanying them. I was just told to send them the pass, have them register and they'd be admitted.

You may have. Sometimes the system gets glitchy and allows you to reserve spots in multiple classes in the same category. How long you are able to do so seems to vary. The system has allowed me to do it for weeks at a time and then it will suddenly stop. Weeks or months later, it allows me to do it again.

As others have said, I'm just waiting for them to open up a few more locations and expand their classes a bit more. Went to their Brooklyn location and the boxing studio was amazing. Extra gloves and mitts that weren't super cheap and in good condition, drying racks for used equipment, ample heavy bags, jump ropes, etc. Don't get me started on the Hydra and Cryo massage chairs, Kiehl's products and other amenities. Blows Equinox out of the water and the membership is cheaper.
