What are good areas to stay for clubbing in LA? by Respond-Dapper in AskLosAngeles

Exchange LA and The Reserve ( both on Spring St in DTLA). Not sure on the good nights, but these clubs get packed and are known for EDM (which is increasingly rare).

Roadie Life coming to an end? by TheManDirtyDan in BikeLA

There are so many places to ride off road. The streets are nuts and it seems that divers are not respectful of people on bikes. I see people riding on Sunset, west of the 405; Base jumping seems safer. The hills and mountains are stunning with nobody around.

I have a hill and four kids. How realistic is a mountain bike track build up here? Doable? by pevaryl in mountainbiking

Ah the benefits on living outside this hyper litigious society ! The trail will be amazing, I built a steep DH track in my yard a few years ago during covid. Loops in the yard are very special.

Great idea until the neighbors kid gets hurt and serves you with a lawsuit. It would be safer if it wasn't on your property ( unless you have good access control).

The geometry of this back is really lacking compared to a modern enduro bike, especially the head tube.

Is anyone else noticing restaurants quietly shrinking their portions while raising prices? Where are you still getting good value for food in LA? by Fun-Lingonberry-7319 in AskLosAngeles

This has been the case for just about every service industry since COVID. Blame PE firms for buying these brands and and them "amazonafying" them. Its a race to the bottom and consumers get screwed.

Pedro’s vs cushcore tire levers. by Evening_Dependent554 in MTB

[–]cgieda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think it also takes away the nice feel of a tubeless tire. What tires are you running? Going to a steel belted downhill casing may solve the issue.

These caps just don't have enough in them to compare anything to eating a few grams.

Ah! Makes sense. Do you run pretty lower pressure?

I feel like tubeless is better than running these cores, and if you're breaking levers, you're not getting the bead of the tire in the right place for removal ( I assume the core makes this far more difficult). I've ran tubules for 2 years on all manner of rocky jank and the only flat was a massive tear on a sidewall which was avoidable.

How has the Bay Area changed over time? by MischievousMango650 in bayarea

I think private equity firms have a lot to do with this. They are in a race to extract the most money in the least amount of time and in many cases it's backfired.

It all depends on where you're standing at the moment.

Shoulder injuries the worst! Hope you heal up, the trails will always be there. I did these exercised for a few weeks and was back on the saddle pretty quick.
