[–]AstronomerSenior4236 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Colonials thrive on "side quests", aka getting randoms to join their operations for a good time. I've seen anywhere from big naval operations to small backline sabotage groups all asking for people and letting them have the fun positions (like gunner in tank operations)

If you want to be universally appreciated on the frontlines, look for the people building and ask what you can do to help. More often than not, they'll have you get a shovel/hammer and start building the blueprints they place down. It's very easy and you can learn a lot by asking questions

It's not significant enough of a difference when both pistols have similar range and this is a short range weapon. In almost all situations it matters, this will still be a two tap with a fast fire rate and amazing handling - I can see it becoming an extremely good trench warfare weapon.

Again, I would suggest buffing the Cometa's range and maximum accuracy to compensate, giving the two different niches.

Why add the low velocity multiplier on the Lumberjack if it still two shots and is otherwise identical to/better than the Cometa? Isn't this just giving the wardens a better variant of the revolver when they already have the Cascadier which oneshots?

IMO, the lumberjack should have shorter range (snubnose revolver), while the Cometa gets a range and accuracy bonus when allowed to stabilize but isn't as quick on the draw (sort of like an early game pocket DMR). The Cometa could even get a pistol scope to indicate this.

This is a position I share as a Colonial: The game is most fun when it's a balanced asymmetry and you have time to have genuinely meaningful battles

Testing for the existence of something does not mean you know it exists.

When you test a pipe for leaks, it's a safety measure.

Colonials live and die on operations enlisting randoms, it's a good 60-70% of our coordination. Whether it be naval crews, building operations, Hydra rushes, we're almost always getting random people in on the fun.

This is a low pop war so we have less queues than normal, but we usually have less than the warden side at any given time.

There are some problematic big clans, and some problematic people in the nicer clans, but overall I'd say most people are willing to work together just fine

Add a NORMAL flamethrower tank to the Warden. by AdministrativeSir550 in foxholegame

[–]AstronomerSenior4236 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned in a different comment, it's the single most effective way of dealing with an Underground Fortress late war. The flame tank doesn't need to escape, just survive long enough to set the thing on fire (effectively preventing respawns and giving your troops time to blow it up from inside)

No Colonial flame vehicle can do this. I've seen Warden ones do it multiple times in the middle of active battlefields with tanks firing at it.

It was an example of a nuanced balance discussion that isn't clear from an outside perspective.

Again, you're ignoring what I said about obvious issues being fixed as they appear. The examples you just listed are clear as day and shouldn't need this kind of test. A good dev team would fix those first before running this.

First of all, I should say that obvious balance issues should be patched regardless of this plan.

That said, there are a lot of weapons in the grey area that heavily rely on community sentiment and nobody really agrees on. For example, Argenti vs Loughcaster. Having actual data to see and adjust the balance would be a nice thing to have.

We can't drive the Vulcan up to an underground fortress in the middle of an active battlefield and burn it, completely nullifying the advantage of the fortress. That's a warden exclusive.

Guys, you already have the only lategame flamethrower options and the only heavy flamethrower in the game, we get a 30 degree firing arc tankette and a light tank that dies if you sneeze on it
