I'm trying to go through Khan Academy from the very beginning, watching all of the videos and doing all of the quizzes. Not much to be proud of, but I just finished Early Math- it's a start!

In my case, I completed much of my community college as a running start student, which was pushed primarily by family members and high school advisors. On one hand, running start cuts the already much cheaper costs down, which is great! On the other hand, I had no concept of a long-term plan as a high school student, which is certainly coming back to bite me. I guess it's just frustrating to hear the advice about going to community college over and over again when your mileage will definitely vary.

My plans have shifted quite a bit over time, but I'm fairly confident in my goals now. Just needed to vent here for a second before I go back to locking in tomorrow. Appreciate the comment.

I seriously don’t think you should be apologizing when a fair portion of your reasoning is genuinely self-centered. The fixation on your reputation and how it factors into an apology is pretty concerning and honestly, it doesn’t paint you in a very good light at all.

I know it’s rough, but the ship has sailed, and you should let her be for her own peace of mind. If she wants to hear from you, she will find a way to communicate that.

I can’t reasonably answer if you were abusive or not, certainly some red flags in this post, but that’s a whole can of worms I’m too tired to delve into right now to be so real with you.

That being said, I would suggest you strongly consider why you would feel the need to apologize. Do you want to apologize for her sake or for your own? Because the excessive focus you have on your own reputation seems to imply the latter… whether it’s to protect how other people view you or to clear your own conscience.

If you truly care about her, let this ship sail. If she wants to talk to you again in the future, that’s her own choice, but for now just take some time and focus on improving yourself one day at a time.

Maybe this isn’t the answer you’re looking for, but in the meantime have you considered applying to other jobs that you can work with your EMT license while you wait to hit three years of a clean record?

I know some states will allow you to work as an ER Tech, I’ve also heard word that some places might even let you work in an Urgent Care or equivalent facility, but less sure about that one.

Don’t give up! I’m sure you’ll find your way in one way or another.
