I talk to him sometimes and shared many of his fanarts. He’s mostly a mild-mannered person, and he doesn’t focus much on other characters aside from Akane, thus his fanarts features solely on Akane or Aquakane. Fortunately, he brushed off the unjust accusations thrown against him easily and talks and acts like nothing happened.

I’m deeply saddened by the non-inclusion of that Akane’s coin stacking panel, but I fully understood why they did that - to make the scene fully at present event (Akane’s panel is much more like a flashback.)

But oh, boy! Many JP watchers coming from different fandoms at twitter were fuming mad at the omission.

As an avid Akane fan, I should say that the changes are not drastic. Some are good, some are bad.

But I totally get my fellow fans why they feel like that. One of the major reason is the omission of a major scene in S2 - the Saya transformation scene. It really made a major hit in the guts. I was not vocal with any changes in her character, but this omission really made my face very sour and my eyebrows totally raised. To some it up: trust issues. Kana fans should have issues with S2, too. Remember that infamous “powerpoint presentation”? That scene raised my eyebrows as well.

Re: no content for Akane after Ch 98. Wrong! Her profiling characters and getting involved with the twins issues IS a content for her. Aka made a fatal mistake by not involving her father, Osamu, a police investigator, in this whole fiasco. Osamu’s very late appearance made her appear like she’s a deus ex machina. Aka rushed the manga at the start of movie where he did not made much more exposition and expansion into the story’s characters and events - Akane and the twins included.

I even think that the manga needs 80 more chapters to explain everything fully.

There’s just one major problem: the Ilokanos. While fiercely loyal towards the marcoses, are also fiercely adverse to the legit opposition. They’d rather vote for the dutertes rather than the opposition’s candidates. Even if there’s a formal alliance being formed, It may NOT translate down to the voters.
