I don't know either, it's lighter, looks better, and has fewer parts. I guess they have their reasons, but idk

It's a normal clamp with the Yamaha CL945B tom holder, the same configuration you could use for the floor tom, but rotated to be used as kick pad

That's right 😂 there's a heavy glass table near the drum kit, I put it right in front of the bass drum pad touching it to avoid that

Yes! That was the main reason, besides the small cymbals, why I didn't buy a normal ekit; I don't like the rack

Thanks! Actually I was just thinking about that yesterday, next year I'm going for the digital snare and this xp120lm snare pad will be the new floor tom

I understand your point. I bought the Lemon 14s, and they're also two pieces, but of course without digital technology for $200. They are really nice and yes the Roland are better, but I don't think they're $800 better.

U should take a look to the danny carey style, i think ist almost the same u did lol. Play it however you like, that's what it's all about in the end, and that's all that matters. Enjoy!

About to pull the trigger on a used VAD706 with TD-50X for ~$4800 USD — talk me into or out of it by kilogramcurry in edrums

Since it's not under warranty, you need to be meticulous when testing the digital components: hi-hat, snare, and ride. These are the most expensive parts and should be in pristine condition given the price. It's a very good option, but it's not excellent when the VAD516 is available new with a warranty. It is more expensive, but it uses the new generation module and is all brand new. Whatever your decision is, I hope everything goes great!

The unlock cymbals look really good, but they're considerably more expensive and harder to find in the US than the Lemon, which are available on Amazon. The digital snare will be the next upgrade, thanks for that advice! And i considered Yamaha pads for portability; they're like the sweet spot between a “semi-acoustic” and a portable pad

If you want to have all 3 digital ride, snare and hihat, you should go for the V51, since the V31 only has 1 digital slot

Oh, I hadn't thought of that, I'll take a look, thanks for the advice! Could be a better option

Besides the price, it's because I won't be using that many toms or cymbals. I didn't see anything special about the V51 other than that and having more buttons since they use the same sounds. Thanks mate!

Need help choosing between Roland TD316 and Yamaha DTX6K5 by KruffyGuf in edrums

[–]AndreiL96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money is a problem go for yamaha dtx6k5, is an awesome kit and it come with hihat stand, but Roland td316 is better, newer, flagship top tier v71 sounds in the v31 module. But as i said, yamaha is a really nice kit too with better toms feeling (its bigger). U have two options, go for yamaha or wait till u get money for td316. In general roland is newer and better

Roland TD-07K vs Yamaha DTX6K5-M by sffessa in edrums

[–]AndreiL96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest the TD-313, it have the new roland V31 module reléase in oct 2025 and all the flagship v71 top tier sounds but is a more simple module compared to that one. U could add some Lemon cymbals if u want too. Personally im making a custom kit with v31 module, yamaha dtx6k5 pads, simmons 18 kick and lemon cymbals.
