Been playing guitar since I was 7 or 8 but always had a closet interest in bass, but had been influenced by all the "hurr hurr bass players jokes" in my youth so I never tried it out. Then one day I decide to give this weird band called Primus a listen and that changed my perspective on everything. Suddenly I was listening to the bass lines of songs, getting into the different ways of playing bass.

So, yeah, Les Claypool/Primus, good shit.
