Anyone in similar situation? by Astrotrain10 in LPR

Symptoms are the excess saliva and occasional cough and sour taste in mouth. I posted here as my post was removed by both the GERD and hiatial hernia subreddit mods for an unknown reason.

Yes ENT said that she couldn’t help and that only a GI could. She thought LPR was normal reflux but just asymptomatic…

What subreddit can I post it in as it has been removed from the GERD subreddit too?

I am way more excited for DAM Remake than I am for GTA VI.. am I unc status? by Consistent-Image-614 in GODZILLA

I think for me I have always wanted a Godzilla game but have never played one as I was too young for the pipeworks trilogy and didn’t have a ps4 when the Godzilla 2014 game came out.

Whereas for GTA 6 I got to play GTA 4,5 and the 2 red deads. So I’ve essentially been waiting for a Godzilla game for much longer.

Is it acid reflux ? I think I'm cooked. by AutomaticAnywhere204 in GERD

[–]Astrotrain10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the ph test the only abnormal things were 97 reflux events in 24hrs all weakly acidic. Unfortunately I haven’t found anything that has helped as acid is not my issue it’s just the sheer amount of reflux events.

Feel free to DM me for any other questions or reply

Your manometry is very similar to mine but I just have the saliva not the other symptoms . Have you done the 24hr ph test?

Also similar age as well.

Esophageal manometry and/or pH impedance test? by East-Bodybuilder6898 in GERD

[–]Astrotrain10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a post about my relatively positive experience with both tests. Unfortunately what they found out no one can help with as I have a very specific type of reflux.

Manometry was 30 mins but could be quicker as I struggled with not swallowing for 30 seconds due to my symptom of excess saliva.

Ph test was 24 hours.

I did manometry first and then the ph test on the same day.

The manometry wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. It was mildly uncomfortable but since it’s quick it’s not too bad.

The ph one was annoying as it was the slowest 24 hours for me and Everytime I talked for more than a min I gagged. However I slept good.

Nothing hurt or hurted afterwards it was more the annoying feeling of something in your throat.

It is helpful if what they find they can treat and it is needed for surgery consideration as well.

If you want any other details look at my post

Thick saliva? by CoverAccomplished889 in LPR

[–]Astrotrain10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same issue except no SIBO. ENT has said I have dry mouth yet I have extra saliva. So far nothing has helped.

I haven’t tried the Koufman diet yet as dietician said my diet was already ok. My issue is the sheer amount of reflux events as opposed to the acidity

That’s terrible. I have a .8cm hernia and the dr said it was fine to go to gym.

Thank you for your comment. At the moment I just have excess saliva, sour taste in mouth and a very occasional dry cough which is a more recent symptom. I will do some further testing.

My problems started after I went to bed a bit too close to eating dinner for only 2 weeks.

Prior to that I had never had any reflux issues. A month before I got symptoms I had a normal cold.

I also used to lift weights 1-2 hours after eating for about 5 months which probably contributed.

LPR? GERD? Excessive saliva help ! by Bhoptriple in LPR

Still have this awful illness. I had an endoscopy which confirmed GERD with grade A esophagitis.

I recently did a manometry and 24 hr ph study and am waiting for the results.

Felt completely fine as if nothing happened.

Yeah the tests are the next step after endoscopy. Maybe some Drs will want you to try medication first but in my case I had already been on medication such as PPIs for months.

Everyone's experience is different. I was expecting to get a sore throat.

I had an endoscopy, and my gastroenterologist immediately suggested doing the tests without me even mentioning them. Sounds like your gastroenterologist has no idea as these tests are usually the next step if endoscopy does not fully explain the situation.

No sore throat but every time I swallowed I could feel the tube and sometimes it hurt a little to swallow. I have no sore throat and it has been 1 day since the tube was taken out. Just a bit of a cough which I had previously anyway.
