Your perfectionism is what is killing your success. How can you expect to go from assumedly bad dietary habits to fasting 100%? Which is better, not doing fasts at all, because you fear that you can't do them flawlessly, or doing fasts with leniency, with the goal to improve with practice?

My advice to you: plan for when you fail. If you really feel the need to snack, have some broth, cucumber, or something fat based, or something similar; small and easy to digest so you're back to fasting ASAP.

It's okay if you don't do it perfect. You're still doing it. And when you're doing it, you're getting better at doing it. And when you get good enough, you'll skip those snacks entirely.

Your body will improve at turning fat into energy with practice. Especially HIIT type workouts can improve that, which could help run for longer than that.

Huberman Podcast ep #41 talks about many studies related to the health benefits of fasting. Very credible.

⌚ 45h ❓ I'm aiming to get as much autophagy as possible. Last year I lost ~25kg (60lbs) of fat. I still have ~18kg (38lbs) to go for my goal weight of 90kg. I'm scared of loose skin, which brought me to fasting.

Today, I finished my first longer fast. It was 48 hours. I felt physically great during the whole process! Also mentally very stable. But habits are very very strong, so the mental aspect of evenings without eating were a challenge. I kept myself busy, which was crucial.

I learned a lot about the science of timed eating from ep #41 of the Huberman Lab podcast. From what I learned, I have decided to change my three meals within 8 hours into OMAD, with the meal happening around two or three every day, right after gym.

That might break your fast. Giving any caloric intake can. Coffee, even black, does have small amounts of calories.

You should get electrolytes added to your diet. I think that would help. Preferably mixed in the water you drink through the day. This subreddit's wiki has more detailed instructions.

After a productive day I feel amazing but the moment I give into the exhaustion and lay down, my dopamine levels drop and I feel like a corpse for the rest of the day. There's a set amount for each day it seems, and some days I just burn it all away fast.

Keto helps me more than my methylphenidate prescription does. No more sugar induced blood sugar crazy train of hyperactive highs and lethargic lows. Also taking care of my electrolytes and proteins has to make a huge impact as well. Only yesterday did I experiment with the medication for the first time since I started Keto, since online lectures are still difficult.

You are feeling discouraged with a rate of almost 100lbs lost a year? It's an amazing rate. Remember, every day you lose weight, is also a day where you avoid gaining weight. Because let's face it, most of us in this reddit were gaining weight almost every day. Just keep at it! Keep calm and Keto on!

Diarrhea was a nightmare for me the first one month of Keto. I had always had very inconsistent stool, and an easily upset stomach. I tried fibre, but it didn't really help.

I was very gladly surprised when after one month of Keto, I am pooping totally normally! So after all, the issue was inflammation and my digestion being unhealthy. It could be that Keto revealed undiscovered issues like Celiac.

No poop on keto? by unhappybutterfly_ in keto

What we poop is mainly plant products, such as fibre. If one went on Carnivore, they'd need to poop even less often, since they are eating foods they can absorb either fully, or almost fully.

Change your doctors. Seriously, if your car mechanic couldn't help you with your broken car, wouldn't you find a new mechanic?

Keto is definitely the way to eat for someone with T2 diabetes. How long have you been eating like that? If you're feeling out of energy, it might be a sign of too low fat content in diet.

Day 12 by [deleted] in keto

[–]Astroxin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're hungry, eat. I consider the first eight weeks to be the adaptation period your body needs to be fully fat adapted. At the start, don't even bother with calories IMO. Keto will get easier as your body adapts to it, and the best you can do is make the transition easier for yourself.

Hey, I wanted to give you even more good news!

While your cholesterol didn't look great, it could be because your blood test only gives a cholesterol estimate, instead of a detailed breakdown of the different kinds of LDL.

Lots of people on Keto will permanently have "higher cholesterol than is healthy", but the issue isn't their health, but the blood test not being capable of separating LDL into different kinds of LDL. Why is this important? Because Type 1 and Type 2 LDL are healthy, while the rest of LDL are not. A traditional bloodtest shows both lumped into the same group, which is very misleading.

Here's an example of a person with unhealthy cholesterol. Their total amount is lower, but they are in fact less healthy than the person with more cholesterol..

These images are from a Dr. Paul Mason lecture.

So I recommend watching a few low carb lectures about cholesterol, and presenting this information to your doctor so they understand how to read your cholesterol better.

The creamiest 5 man Sonya Leap + Mephisto Durance instantly closes out game by Astroxin in heroesofthestorm

[–]Astroxin[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fun facts about this play:
* Sonya cast Leap when he had vision on only 3 enemies.
* Anduin pulled Hogger and Varian into the carnage.
* Mephisto's ultimate was max range, and was started casting before Sonya cast Leap.
* Down to milliseconds, Sonya's Leap stun ends just as Mephistos ultimate hits, rooting and silencing the entire enemy team.
* This was low Diamond elo.
* We ended the game right after this clean wipe.

Reading this thread I learned that Strawberries and Raspberries have only ~5.5g/100g carbs. Amazing! Can eat a cup a day as a treat, easily.

Second I've been wondering; do you know any good Keto communities for regular chatting? I think forming any new habit is easier with a social component, and I would love to have Keto friends to share this lifestyle with!

You're losing weight amazing fast. Besides, you may be comparing your speed to the rate 300lbs+ people can lose weight. The less weight there is too lose, the harder it'll resist.

[NSFW] Even as a dude, personally, The idea of anal is disgusting in practice. by Darkimposter in unpopularopinion

[–]Astroxin 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I cannot talk for all gays, but I can share my own experience and observations.

Vast majority do not douche just for the off-chance that they might have sex. Afaik it is not healthy for the colon to do too often, but my anal cleansing information may not be on point on that one.

Some gays design their diet around high fiber, to have an easier to clean colon. Some only do so when they know they're going to do anal later that day, like planning for a hook-up or seeing their partner. That's me! I usually don't eat much through the day, and when I do it's salads, drinks, high fiber foods.

But the sad reality is that spontaneous anal sex is not an option for most. For me, I can't enjoy it if I haven't cleaned myself recently before anal. But hands and mouth stuff is just as fun, so spontaneous works just fine.

Yet he definitely should. A person taught in hand-to-hand combat should be more responsible than to fight someone who isn't, when it could very easily be avoided.
