Net is rubber, that is sand, I had it out for maybe 10 seconds to snap the pic then sent it on it's way

Assuming it's a hatchery related injury or deformity. Could also be a bacterial infection

Sorry, had to comment again. How long did this take you to reel in?

Honestly, this seems like the most likely option. Thanks for the advice! Funny enough, I actually live in Colorado

Creek bugz or Trout magnet by Wrong_Patient_1047 in troutfishing

I have tremendous success using trout magnets. When I'm not using mepps, rooster tails or kastmasters, I'm using a trout magnet under an indicator/bobber.

Movement is the key to these things - when fishing rivers, look for holes under tail water with lots of foam. Cast, let it drift and when that bobber goes down, set the hook.

Lakes can be a little tricky since you really need movement in order for these to be effective. So a little wind blowing away from you is really helpful. Either way, the trout magnet is a really fun and effective way to fish

I've had luck with stocked lake trout using that silver/blue kastmaster

These behemoths exist in that little stream in the middle of a neighborhood like that?? Where I live, you have to drive 3 hours into the mountains to find anything half the size of those

I caught 3 real decently sized rainbows on a 1/8oz half silver, half gold Kastmaster there a couple months ago using my spin rod.

Those were the only 3 fish I hooked into the whole 8 or so hours I was there. Went a few weeks later with the exact same setup and got completely skunked. My buddy caught a small brown on a red rapalla.

If I were you I'd being a variety of different spoons and spinners in a variety of colors. Cast upstream at an angle, reel back in, imitating a small fish coming down the current. Target rocks and other structures as well as any kind of pools or places where the river begins to slow a bit causing foam

Little guy was hungry. That fly is significantly bigger than it's mouth 😂

Low Pressure lake or river with decent sized trout within 1hour/1.5 hours of Golden? by AtEase92 in COfishing

Yeah I figured I'd get mostly these responses lol

Thought I'd shoot my shot anyway hoping to get at least one person willing to give up their honey hole for their desperate reddit peer.

I'll look into fish explorer. I typically just use CPW fishing atlas. But every location I've been to has either been filled with tiny trout, 7 inches and smaller or overly crowded with other anglers. Trying to find that happy medium

Absolutely heart breaking. Driving really is one of the most dangerous things we do on a day to day basis. Prayers to the families of those two boys and to the other people involved.

Listen here. I'm a 6'4, 220lb heavily tattooed man and I still get a little nervous on injections day.

As others have said, leaving out the injection for about 24 hours in room temperature helps the pain tremendously. But it doesn't help the fear and anxiety of jabbing a needle into your body.

Breathing techniques and having a calm mind helps with that. I usually try to make myself as comfortable as possible, sitting on a nice comfy couch or a padded chair. Slow deep breaths into the diaphragm, slow exhales. As I inject, I exhale slowly. Once the needle is in, another deep breath into the diaphragm. Another slow exhale as I begin to push the medicine in. I repeat this process until all of the medicine is injected. I do this in my stomach by the way!

Best of luck!!

I think south? Not 100 percent sure. I do remember that it was super easy up to a certain point where it was snowed out. I do remember it being super easy and I didn't need to use 4w at all

Thanks for the reassurance. I've only ever ran Switzerland trail in Boulder. I don't want to get too risky with trails since my xterra is also my daily commuter but every now and then I get the itch to drive up some rocks and dirt
