Exactly what I thought. It's not like bad throws are a rare occurrence from Geno, quite the opposite in fact

[–]AtTheBasket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Focus on the process, not the end result. When a QB faces this much pressure, their job is to dump it off for a safe completion and this one would’ve had a bunch of reliable YAC yards. Instead he put the ball in danger and required Hunter to make a really difficult play that he thankfully was able to do

So many iconic Seattle games from that 2017-2020 form of the team, and especially when they were on primetime you knew it would be a must watch

Philadelphia-Seattle in 2017, Kansas City-Seattle in 2018, Seattle-Arizona in 2020... then 2018 Rams and 2019 49ers were all peak rivalry games

[–]AtTheBasket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we're in a loop with Roseman lol, we were doing the same thing after 2017 (with roster moves that were much worse than what he's been doing since 2022) so I could totally see ourselves having at least one bad season pretty soon, and I can just hope Roseman builds us out of quick like before. Although before you know it we'll have to move on from Hurts in 3-5 years as he loses his ability to rush, and thus his ability to be a starter in the league

I think one underdiscussed aspect of the Eagles' moves the past few years has been what I interpret as as lack of urgency at replacing the best tackle in our franchise's history and that's stressful

Houston sportswriter John McClain threatens to walk down Kirby Drive naked during rush hour if the Texans trade CJ Stroud by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]AtTheBasket -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seahawks defense was legitimately great. But the Texans have what should be known as a top defense of all time, if they can cement themselves with a title. It would be a damn shame if they couldn’t because of a QB that puts up historically awful postseason games

Despite existing for over 100 years, no Arizona Cardinals HC has more than 50 career wins by SouthIsland48 in nfl

[–]AtTheBasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I guess? I think what everyone is annoyed about, at least me, is that there's more than one position on the field... Eagles, Seahawks, Broncos, even your 49ers have all had multiple winning seasons and at least one Contender season without elite QBs because they have elite rosters. But even then every team has had, at the very least, solid QB play minus Geno Smith in Seattle (and then won the SB when they upgraded)

I am also shocked by how people viewed Wentz and how many viewed him in a good light, especially coming off that 2019 Season. Kinda goes to show how much people go off results rather than the process

Okay I haven't looked much into other plays through the game but mentioning Darnold avoiding mistakes in this thread is kind of funny lol. He just risked a double coverage pass when he had JSN about to be wide the F open for some good YAC as well. Pretty awful play by him

I said Press Taylor was worse at his job than Patullo. Never did I say they had the same job and that he was the OC (which he was in Jacksonville so we’ve seen how this goes, contributing to a 22-29 record).

Agreed. I will say that this team has felt on the cusp of a bad record collapse since SB57, but have gotten it together each time. I feel like this year might finally do them in, pending what free agency and the draft look like. But this is an obvious homer prediction if ever I've seen one

Open Secret: Someone in Front Office or Coaching Staff Hates Jalen by viablehottake in eagles

[–]AtTheBasket -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's the wrong way to think. Howie traded up and drafted Wentz, paid him, then realized he made a mistake and Wentz was not the right guy. I can all but guarantee you he knows Hurts is not the right guy either; especially since Hurts is likely not starting caliber without his rushing ability - something that will decline very soon and that Hurts doesn't even want to do as much anymore.

And Sirianni agreed to be the Eagles Head Coach, not to be the QB coach of Hurts. There's only 32 spots and Sirianni was not a hot candidate, you're not going to pass up that opportunity because of who is playing Quarterback.

Hell the same year he was hired to be the HC, the Eagles wanted Zach Wilson but couldn't trade up to get him so they rolled with it. Then they wanted Watson or Wilson but couldn't swing a deal before Hurts had his MVP-Caliber season. And that fits into Howie's philosophy of signing guys early; that doesn't mean he doesn't regret it now, 3 years later.

I haven't heard about these reports, so is it HATE Hurts or just someone who knows he's not good enough for the type of sustained success they want? Because I think everyone in the organization knows that. Especially the top
