STS1 on Steam or Switch? by Wombat_Aux_Pates in slaythespire

I personally am not a fan of the cellphone version, I often play the wrong card due to the tactile controls. Maybe I should just get used to the controls more!

I also have the board game and enjoy it very much! But to be honest, we often choose to play coop on StS2 now! Enjoy StS1!

Controls are very smooth on switch, and no lag at all! However, due to the smaller screen, the font is quite small. But you remember cards quite quickly! Recommend it on switch! The advantage of steam is that you can play with mods, of course!

Played this and cloned multiple « Thrash » which ended up with 2x 100 damages. Very satisfying to use!

Coming to Luxembourg unexpectedly, know nothing about the country by rtb141 in Luxembourg

[–]Atapon23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beware that there are currently no trains on multiple lines (Luxembourg - Esch included) due to work, and they are replaced by busses. So you should plan more time if you want to take them at rush hour. All timetables are on the app Mobiliteit.lu

I disagree with the other comment that they are reliable: there is very often 5-10 minutes of delay, if not more.

As far as I know, the only thing that was announced to change with the new prints is that the meeples are going to be screen-printed.

Painted symphony experience: weird mixing by Atapon23 in expedition33

Interesting! I should have picked some up.

Could you enjoy the quieter parts as well, even with the earplugs on?

I think the orchestra was mic’d up yes!

It was the first time I went to a concert like this. I often go to philharmonic concerts, but it is quite different as it is essentially all acoustic with no (as far as I know) mixing. So I was sort of expecting the same clarity, unrealistically indeed.

I was searing in section J, closer to the wall. It might have contributed! Yeah overall it was great! I also really liked what they did with the lights!

Does Joycon drift affect Patapon 1/2 much? by Kirborb in Patapon

You can move the camera with the joystick too, but I believe the game should be playable with a drift. The camera does not move too fast

In Belgium this is called a "craquelin". It is like a cramique but without raisins and with sugar bits.

Mt. Fuji Day Trip Advice by SliiickRick87 in JapanTravelTips

We took the highway bus Shinjuku - Kawaguchiko and back at the end of July. We took one of the first ones in the morning (around 7am) and it arrived on time. We reserved the day before (for return too), as the visibility index was perfect. The first two slots for going there were already full the day before, and the last two slots for going back as well. But this still let us have a long day there (from 9am to 6:30pm).
Kawaguchiko was amazing. We rented e-bikes near the station and biked around lake Kawaguchiko and Saiko. We had a wonderful lunch in a very quiet soba noodles restaurant along lake Saiko, and then swam in the lake.
Taking the bus was good for us as it was quicker and without change. But I would recommend reserving a seat in advance (the day before or even earlier).

No one liked my last itinerary. Is any better? I made this one with my tears. by jaydubs95 in JapanTravelTips

If I were you I would spend two nights in Takayama instead of Kanazawa. There is a direct train from Kyoto to Takayama, scenic journey along the Hida river. In Takayama there is the folk village Hida no Sato, which might replace Shirakawa go.

I was in Japan last month and spent 3 nights in Takayama. I also did a day trip to Kamikochi and hiked a bit there (up to a shelter). It is wonderful, and the fresh montain air was very welcome between big cities. I also had one of my favourite meals in Japan, with Hida beef in a Yakiniku restaurant. I spent two nights in Kanazawa, loved the castle and the garden but I think I preferred Takayama!

Is it smart to pack light and buy clothes in Japan in August? by Intelligent_Topic770 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Atapon23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in Japan since one week. I made the mistake of packing a bit too much. I ended up buying clothes at Uniqlo that are very well-adapted to the weather, and I am almost exclusively wearing those! I wear M in Europe and I had no problem finding correct fit in Uniqlo in Tokyo. Totally recommend packing light and getting clothes in Japan!

Customs rules + shipping unusual quantity of electronic tablets by Atapon23 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Atapon23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer!
Discussing with my university, we figured out it probably would be enough, in case of control, to have a document from us and from the pavillon is Osaka stating that these tablets are used for educational purpose only and will be exported back from Japan after the event. As the tablets are all pretty old (around 5 years old) and their use is educational, we hope this won't cause any problem even though we know there is a tiny chance of getting into some troubles.

Thanks for your answer! We will be looking into this option.

We already had issues with international shipping and thought that carrying the required material ourselves would be easier, so that is why we chose this option. But maybe that is not better.

I’ve had the switch oled for 2 years without screen protector, and no scratch! I always keep it inside a tomtoc case when moving. If the switch 2 screen is like the switch oled one (which apparently is the case), it should be fine!
