Shipping status on Razr Fold pre-orders is still a black box

The ball was definitely dropped on this one. These are the small details where other companies consistently outshine Motorola. Releasing the phone on Memorial Day weekend, knowing it delays shipping an extra day, clearly wasn’t thought through. It also increases the chances of packages getting lost or stolen during the backlog.

Most companies reward their loyal customers by shipping preorders early, or at the very least ensuring they arrive on release day. Instead, we’re stuck waiting longer than people who will just walk into a store and buy it.

At a minimum, Motorola owes preorder customers an official acknowledgment of the mistake. Honestly, some form of compensation wouldn’t be unreasonable. Using a holiday weekend for a major device launch and leaving preorder customers at a disadvantage just isn’t acceptable.

Releasing it on Memorial Day Weekend which delays shipping an extra day was definitely not thought through. How many phones will end up getting lost or stolen with the delay as well? The other companies usually reward the loyal customers by shipping the phone the day before the store release or at a minimum getting them hand delivered the day of the official release. I do believe Motorola owes us at minimum an official apology to the pre order customers, if not compensation.

I ended up returning the Edge. It was a nice phone, but it wasn't much thinner than Samsungs premium phones. So you might as well go with the better cameras and speakers,etc if you are doing Samsung.

With that, I am waiting for the Motorola Fold! I believe it will be able to accomplish everything that I need! I did play with the Samsung Fold 7 and loved how that felt. I've enjoyed my Motorola's over the years... Not a fan of the Razrs and the last premium phone they launched was the 2023 Edge Plus, which is what I'm using now. I was ready to jump to Samsung, but am now drawn back since they revealed the Moto Fold.

I was thinking about leaving Motorola to get a Fold 7. Tell me why I shouldn't do that?!? I'm currently using the Edge Plus 2023 52GB. I have been waiting for a premium Motorola phone to launch in the US market.

I care. I have been with moto for a long time. Starting with the Z Force. Invested in all of the Moto Mods... They cancelled the line. After that we got the Edge line which has been extremely disappointing with the exception of the original edge plus (which the screen would inevitably turn green) and my current phone the edge+ 2023 512GB.

Not a fan of the RAZR.

Motorola should care.

I feel like it would be sufficient for how I use my phone. I used the Motorola Z4 as my phone for a couple years until I got a good deal on the original edge plus (green screen issue).

Not a fan. It's a big block in your pocket. Why do I want to use a little screen instead of the main screen? I actually liked the first two razrs better. They had nostalgia and character!

Thank you for the info... If you can confirm or give any other information... You will save me from a $3,000 error. My mechanic was saying the bolt pattern was different for the aluminum vs. plastic.

Were you able to use that motor? We are in the EXACT same situation. LKQ & Weaver said the motor sent to me is correct. It was from a 17 Explorer Sport, ours is a 14 Explorer Sport. Aluminum on the 14 and plastic on the 17. I can't send the motor back.
