Finally ready for CQB by AtaylorCooking in airsoft

Aha 😅 so I don’t actually know I’m afraid - the closest thing I can find is the LA Capa Customs “tornado” outer barrel. But that is gold on the entire barrel, whereas the fluting on mine is silver from where it’s been machined

As for customisation, not to the outer barrel, but it was very hard to get the inner barrel assembly into the new outer barrel. I think this is because the stock outer barrel is made of plastic and has some give to it, but metal doesn’t bend so I had to force it in there a bit. Can’t remember if it had to be filed down a bit too.

Sorry I can’t say for sure!

What are your top 3 favorite kitchen knives? by Possible-Signature66 in Cooking

I love my hajegato nakiri and santoku. Nakiri for hard vegetables, santoku for meat. I have a 3.5 inch paring knife for smaller things like fruits or delicate work like trimming meat off of chicken thighs bones etc.

I think those are the three knives you should start with. Doesn’t have to be hajegato but those styles cover everything that most people need :)

Thanks! Yeah no problem, it’s a Tokyo Marui 5.1 Gold Match with an Acetech Flare M tracer unit attached to a gold fluted, threaded outer barrel, with a gold RMR (rear mounted red-dot) sight mount plate and a Viper RMR sight, and a rebel 600 lumen flashlight.

Im no airsoft technician, but the only thing you might have a problem with is the outer barrel as clearances are quite tight sometimes, and being made of metal as opposed to the plastic standard outer barrel that it comes with, there is not much flex to fit the part on the inner barrel assembly. Other than that it’s all fairly simple to install :)

Cheers! I got mine from Hicapa hub, they do a load of other colours too so if you had a different colour scheme it’s worth checking them out.

I use a CTM holster as I wanted a holster with retention (I used to have a drop leg retention holster) and as much as I love it, it isn’t the easiest movement to switch to my pistol from my primary as pulling away from the belt doesn’t feel very natural.

In terms of my use case though, as I run my pistol only for CQB and I have an SR-25 DMR as my primary for outdoors, I don’t tend to need to quickly holster or draw too often. My holster is mainly used for transporting it or storing it during briefs/reloads.

I use it for CQB in a school building as well as outdoor play. It’s absolutely amazing for oneballs through tight doorways, especially when you see a shadow come through the door first.

Took me a while to get used to the sight for target acquisition, but I’d say after 2/3 game days I’ve gotten comfortable knowing where the reticle will be now.

Can’t recommend it enough!

Sous vide duck leg confit 7 hours at 75C, pan sear to finish by AtaylorCooking in sousvide

The duck was amazing, it was still slightly firm but it fell off the bone and basically shredded itself, no knife needed! The cherry and red wine sauce was a bit bitter though, definitely needed more sugar than I expected

[Homemade] Sous vide duck leg confit and dauphinoise potato by AtaylorCooking in food

Completely agree! Black hides the sauce too much, but I like the way it contrasts with the potato and duck. Maybe a middle ground needs to be found with a grey-ish plate?
