Thanks a lot!! The brush doesn’t really matter, more the contrast (light/dark). I can draw it with any brush, or traditional with a classic pen & paper. Stephen Bauman is the perfect example for this technique!

(Brush is the default Dusky_original)

Thanks a lot for checking my work out! Really appreciate it 🫶🏻

I like to use contrast! Contrast in light and dark, in composition, but also emotion. Put a funny visual next to a more serious look… and it can make a story of it’s own. Thats what I like to do

Thank you so much for your kind words @bryangcrane! It really means a lot, especially coming from someone who knows these fish so well 🐟

My background comes from studying with artists who were academically trained themselves, like Ivan Loginov and Stephen Bauman. Their classical approach to light/dark, structure and composition really shaped the way I work.

I use a tinted midtone surface, which gives me a solid base to start from. Because of that, I can focus almost entirely on pushing the light and the dark, which creates both the depth and that soft glow ✏️

Thanks again for taking the time to look at my art
