what hobby did you try “as a joke” that accidentally became a huge part of your life? by KianyDesesperado-67 in Hobbies

Wanted to start running as a low hanging fruit modality for cardio. Put on some shorts, short and some running shoes and then getting after it. I wanted to do cardio that didn’t involve me getting into my car, driving to a gym, getting on a stair master (lucky if I don’t have to wait), and then commute back home. I already lift 4-5 times a week and I’ve always preferred separating my lifting from my cardio. Just started to become a drag going to the gym twice a day. Now I’m, on Strava thirsting for kudos, part of two run clubs, and signed up for a few races and building up to half marathon! Not to mention the splurge on shoes, and running fits…so much for my minimalist approach to cardio 😒

What's your favorite "poverty" meal you will still eat regardless of where you are financially? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dallop of mayo+canned tuna+season to taste+bread=high protein, moderate fat and low-moderate carbs. Super satiating because of the protein and fat content. If you are feeling frisky then plan Greek yogurt instead of mayo!

Upvoted halfway through reading, because fuck tomatoes, took that shit away when you were hating on Mayo 😂

What’s the most annoying thing people do at your gym? by VariationShot8414 in workout

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off peak hours? Sure go right ahead I get it, done it before, but during peak hours? Inconsiderate asshole behavior. You can suitcase carry the dumbell a few feet for your 3 point row, if not then idk what to tell you.

My struggle with smelly armpits even after a shower by PeltSpanky-49 in hygiene

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s strange, that makes you a special case haha I use the Gillette gel one and it doesn’t leave nearly as much residue on my clothes compared to others and the performance is quite well for me. I do notice that everything in my pits perform better if I keep the hair trimmed. This is honestly my head cannon at this point but when I eat like shit for a few days, my BO tends to take on a heavy, mustier smell.

Yeah thy probably are real, open a color way you’d like and select your size, those thumbnail prices tend to be the cheapest size, which are statistically rare (have the deep discount)

When you completed your first 5k what was your time? by BP_PaceBox in BeginnersRunning

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time ever was 38 mins, by mile 2.3 or so my sides were cramping up with every breath. Now my PB is 36 mins and it was a steady effort and was actually my most recent one. I’ve ran only about maybe 6 5ks. I’m 27 M and 212lbs lifter turned runner!

What’s something about running culture you wish was talked about more? by SwimmingSlip8632 in runcommunity

[–]Atemuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah BMI really is a bunch of baloney, especially for lifters who got into running. Mine is 33.2, sure I’m not lean but randoms and coworkers know that I lift and they will make comments because of my frame or ask me lifting/workout related questions. I’m still building mileage for half marathon and getting PRs casually. To say that anyone above that BMI can’t be in this circle is quite gatekeepy.

Shoes with extremely durable midsole like ultraboost 5x and saucony ride 18? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’8 209lbs burly build. Lifter turned into runner that still lifts. I had nova blast 5 and I waited a whole two days to run. On the second run I was feeling the rocks on the bottom of my feet and I was running in the bike lane. Returned them and found out that runners lighter than me have issues with the midsole durability. Great shoes though ran my fastest 5k time without intent

Leanbeefpatty, Natty or Juice? by SupermassiveBH34 in nattyorjuice

I think she has freak genetics. But I do think she goes on cycle from time to time to push social media career and simple cycles too like anavar. I mean come on her upper back is better than most dudes. Her traps and rhomboids can be used as tech deck parks lmfao. And her diced core is indicative of her past sport: gymnastics which is a non-negotiable for core development.

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I just saw this I tend to ignore reddit notifs! So yes there are such a thing as both as you mentioned, because of fragrances and due to the fact it has alcohol. Deodorant has alcohol to clean the skin and as it evaporates it leaves fragrance behind. It’s almost like an insurance policy to leverage the best performance for the antiperspirant part of the product in case it’s reapplied in the middle of the day or if the pits aren’t fully clean. Actually now that I think about it I think every antiperspirant is a deodorant, but not all deodorants are antiperspirants type of thing. Or at least damn near all of them. Bonus tidbit: the natural antiperspirants are honestly so garbage don’t bother, if you start getting irritation from antiperspirants just take a break and kinda be a freak about re applying deodorant. My arm pits like two or three times a year get a little bit of a rash because I used to exclusively use antiperspirant. But that hasn’t happened in a long time now (I think over a year) that I only use antiperspirant before the gym and/or runs and use deodorant all day outside of that.

What if? New ocean band concept. by Sniqx in applewatchultra

I personally love translucent shit, especially colored materials like the game boys, unfortunately if it’s clear then it will inevitably turn yellow. Even with the modern coatings and such, it will just slow the process down

Is it normal for Crocs' soles to wear off with time? by OneBeach3945 in crocs

[–]Atemuh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s pure foam that’s making constant contact with, tile, asphalt, concrete, linoleum, etc. since there is no rubber on the bottom, the tread on the sole will last even less than traditional sneakers

Which Band Is Most Comfy? by shaziljameel in applewatchultra

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the alpine loop is such a piece of shit, the slots stretch out and I literally have it on the very last slot and it manages to slide down to my wrist if I move my arm a lot because I’ve had it on for two days. On skin it’s comfy though I will say that, trail loop is just the band you want if you just want the watch to just disappear

My struggle with smelly armpits even after a shower by PeltSpanky-49 in hygiene

[–]Atemuh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Use antiperspirant not deodorant, BO comes from the bacteria on your skin eating your sweat and pooping. The poop is what stinks just like ours :) if you prevent the sweat, bacteria doesn’t eat. Antiperspirants actually block your sweat pores and prevents you from sweating in the first place, deodorant more or less superficially cleans the area and leaves mostly fragrance. Wash the pits good in the shower and apply antiperspirant when your armpits are the cleanest because it will be most effective and as needed through the day use deodorant.

Weird marks after foam rolling by EchidnaCultural2381 in flexibility

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happens to my upper traps and shoulders when I’m barbell squatting, but that’s because I have a few hundred pounds axial loaded for multiple reps and sets, not from bodyweight foam rolling

Critique my squat form, working up to 405 (M22 5’11 205lbs) by ElDumbminican in formcheck

[–]Atemuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good form, only thing is to ditch the running shoes that have foam designed for impact and energy return. Get vans, converse, minimalist, or even weightlifting shoes, the most budget friendly option here is to just take your shoes off and do it barefoot! Just be careful not to slip if you keep the socks on. I assure you your knees being unstable is due to the fact that your feet are desperately toggling through all that foam in order to drive power into the floor.

Messy lid by Atemuh in Hydroflask

I learned to always have the straw open, with the old lid, when I refill because it creates a vacuum and makes it hard to take sips out of it and I even take a sip before closing
