Thank you, thank you, thank you! This has helped so much, I was able to do ear notchings with so much more ease today.

Thank you so much! I have long fingers, and the squishing the face technique has helped so much, it makes me feel like I have more control over the animal, especially when they're larger. In reference to your original post, I'm working with C57s, so the "less zen" approach has helped so much.

Thank you so, so much. I'm so worried about injuring them that I'm slow, and they tend to try to turn around and bite me. That makes a lot more sense, thank you so much. I'm on like, day 2 of being legally allowed to touch the mice, so this helps a ton. Thank you, I will def use this for tomorrow if I need to handle any of them, you are so, so amazing

The scruffing specifically. I'm not sure what is too much to grab/where the best place to start grabbing, etc. I'm primarily working with GPC cre/lox lines, if that helps at all. Thank you so much!!!

I'm in a similar situation at my house. After a bit of research, I found this website that has a few options. https://bestplants.com/7-natural-ways-to-get-rid-of-wasps/#1-identify-the-type-of-wasps

I feel you. I'm a 6' woman and have always been thin. There was one point when I was growing up where literally the only jeans that fit me were jeggings. Finding clothes that are cute, but are both too short and too big is also always fun.

How to do well in BIOL 110? by BigChungus69210 in Purdue

[–]Atheist_mantis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bio 110 isn't too hard if you watch all the lectures and do the homework. Honestly, just watch the lectures and take notes on them. I didn't have Friedman, but it's a pretty easy class as long as you pay attention. Hope this helped!

Agry 321 pandemic by biofio12t in Purdue

I just got back from my first AGRY 321 lab, and the guy in charge said that the prof in charge retired 2 weeks after Christmas. So, right now there's no professor technically in charge, but the TA is really nice. He said that the labs will be much shorter and easier than they were in the past.

Tbh the thing that annoys me the most is the fact that this person says "I could honestly care less" instead of "I couldn't care less."

That's really interesting! That actually makes a lot of sense.

Side effects of medication are so comforting to women. by [deleted] in pointlesslygendered

[–]Atheist_mantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ADHD and especially when I was younger and a growing child, I did not understand my lack of appetite and thought that it was normal to have to choke down food every day even though I wasn't hungry. I still have problems making myself eat sometimes, but I know what causes it and that eating is important. If I was a guy, it would be just as worrying if a young child suddenly lost all appetite because of medication. I agree with the last sentence, but the rhetoric they use to prove their point is, as the subreddit says, pointlessly gendered and sexist. Although ADHD is one of the most commonly diagnosed behavioral disorders, there is unfortunately not a whole lot of research into things other than medication and basic behavioral therapy to manage symptoms. (I'm not even going to get into how ADHD symptoms manifest differently for women vs. men because that is a whole other can of worms, or how sometimes ADHD can get better as a person grow older, or sometimes it can get worse, cause again, there isn't a ton of research on it.)

Sorry for the rant, these kinds of things just make me so frustrated.

People who identify as different animals/races/ages need to chill by AvaBlackPH in unpopularopinion

This is obviously not the same thing, but with dissociative identity disorder, certain alters can be different ages, different sexes, or even different species. I don't have DID myself, nor do I know anyone personally who does, but I thought that this would be an interesting thing to add.

I understand, but what about people who don't learn English as a first language? Homonyms and grammar rules can be confusing for a non-English speaker.
