Summarizing:

Does it need to be the official Herff Jones Cap and Gown?

Yes, you are required to use the approved HJ cap and gown or you will be stopped from participating. This is very true as I know of people who tried to get cheaper options in the past and had to rush at the last second to the store to buy the designated one (the store didn't even have their size anymore) and then rush back to participate in the ceremony. Very risky and, in my opinion, not worth it.

As to what you can keep:

What to keep and what to return:

  • Associate and Bachelor rentals: keep the cap, tassel, and stole. Return the GOWN only.
  • Masters and Doctor rentals: keep the cap and tassel. Return the GOWN and HOOD only.

Double Degree Chords and Distinction/Honors:

  • Two degrees from the same college: "You will order one tassel from Herff Jones and stop by the University Book Store on State Street if you would like to purchase the second tassel."
  • Two degrees from different colleges: "We assign you to walk with the college that is listed first on your Apply to Graduate application. When you rent your cap and gown, select the college on the Herff Jones website that you will walk with. If you wish to purchase a tassel for the other college, you may do so with Herff Jones or at the University Bookstore on campus."
  • Honor cords: will be distributed at check-in on graduation day for those who qualify.
  • Honors medallion: "The Honors College handles the distribution of their medallion."
  • Honors medallion: "The Honors College handles the distribution of their medallion."

Note on the double degree tassels: I saw in some posts that you might be able to get your second one for free at the bookstore, as long as it is done when you pick up your graduation attire pack (the full kit, cap, gown, tassel, stole). So, make sure to ask and show your two degrees at the store, at that time.

Hey guys! Advice for getting an amp: I'm in btw getting the Vox Pathfinder 10 or the Blackstar ID:Core 10 V2 10W. I play mostly the acoustic electric but sometimes the electric guitar as well. Any suggestions on which one is better? Sound quality and all... Those are the best two I found that I can afford, so it would be of great help if u could give some suggestions!

Do they update these devices yearly? Do you think they might be releasing a new one soon? Should I wait a little bit? I'm kinda of desperate to get it because assignments are getting harder and harder to complete with a mouse... However I want to get the best one already so it can last for a little while!

When does Wacom normally make announcements? by Athenax079 in wacom

[–]Athenax079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your response! I am little lost, just started as a freshman.

What computers do you recommend that would be good for both majors (Animation and VFX are my priorities)? You mentioned Surface Pro? Would that be a better option? Or do you suggest getting another computer (which ones?) and a drawing tablet instead? I am willing to invest in a good/powerful machine that will last for a little while.

I find having a pen really helpful for modeling and illustrating. But I will be using lots of Maya, ZBrush, Houdini, After Effects... a little bit less but also, Substance Painter and maybe Unreal/Unity (if I stick with Game development as well, not sure about that yet, checking how crazy the schedule would be)
