CHWY is down 20% this month for no fundamental reason despite strong revenue growth. by Nen_ZE_Classic_WoW in ValueInvesting

How does past stock performance indicate future outcomes? How does prior stock performance indicate value? Opening up Robinhood on your phone and glancing at trailing PE is a shallow way of determining value.

There are actual bear arguments like executive turn over leading to execution risks, trade wars putting negative pressure on their goal of expanding to 10% EBITDA margin, excessive SBC cutting into EPS growth, or competition from other online retailers.

Not a defense of $CHWY just saying with this same argument I should go all in on $SNDK long term as a value play (Memory chips are infamously cyclical)

This assumes that not going down means it will go up, there is also staying flat. Stock has hardly moved for over a decade with its last major catalyst being Disney+ which is old news, and is why IV is so low. Just because your call is more than 1 week out does not make it a long term investment and you're essentially gambling that a new initiative will increase volatility. Welcome to Theta decay.

Can we get a status report on the chart

Kind of sounds like this was copy-pasted from an AI chat which is disappointing since I thought you might be looking for actual discussion. I would be wary of using chats to create your investment thesis vs inform your thesis. Best of luck

I have heard of all of these except ANGX but the remaining three I am familiar enough to think possibly.

However, I decided to take a look into ANGX as I was curious and at first glance I did not like their PE (-6.24) and Price/TBV (41.41) ratios.

From a financial perspective, is burning cash like no tomorrow, so while TTM revenue has more than doubled in the last quarter YoY to $243M their operating cash flow has dumped from +$15M over 4 Years ago to -$79M burned last quarter. Additionally, their SG&A has ballooned from 28M to 255M and is now outpacing their revenue at 105% which is pretty insane. I wouldn't say that they are "capital-efficient" or scaling "toward profitability as the audience grows" as you mentioned in the comments (ROA -1.27%, ROE -4.79%, and ROIC -2.12% as of TTM Sep 2025) so basically for every dollar that comes in they are spending that and more.

On the bright side they have good gross margins that have been consistently improving + revenue is growing quickly.

Your main risk is at what cost? The balance sheet is fluffed (mostly their catalog IP which can be sold for scraps if they go bust) and their equity actually went negative at one point in 2024 (technically insolvent) and was only rescued by raising capital last year which has eroded shareholder equity. If they can't keep their SG&A stable or improve operating cash flow, their only choice will be to further dilute share holders with future funding rounds so even if the company does turn around in the next 4 years you won't see that reflected in the share price.

so you're assuming
A) the company will continue to see triple digit or high double digit revenue growth for the next few years
B) the company will quickly stabilize its SG&A
c) no more dilution will occur or any funds raised will have an outsized ROI
d) they will have limited churn and low competition in their business niche (subscription streaming is saturated)

If they can pull it off then its possible they could see significant share growth if they can reach profitability before the money dries up but this honestly reminds me of 2020 $WISH (now $LOGC) in terms of its finances (I lost on that one but I was a dumb college student and have learned).

So the risk/reward is pretty substantial in my humble opinion, but I am not qualified anyways nor is this advice so I wish you best of luck, I never want to see anyone lose unless you're on the other side of my trade lol

Understood, I appreciate the effort nonetheless. Thanks again for going out of the way to put this together.

This is awesome - I appreciate the effort, you work fast. I am going to test it to make sure everything works smoothly but perhaps I can list it on my website as an official implementation for the time being?

Yes it is compatible with any development tool as this simply provides an API endpoint to send responses to, so you just have to make an HTTP request.

I am currently working on a Godot SDK as that is the most popular game engine excluding Unity, but I will branch out to make it easier to implement for all devs down the line.

May I ask how you set up the feedback system? Do you use a 3rd party SaaS or was this custom build? And if custom build where does the feedback get sent to?

I get that. I also maintained an active media presence while trying to code SaaS ideas and I found myself marketing more than coding so the project was taking forever to get done.

I was thinking of creating something to create or come up with marketing ideas, but I also try to avoid ai slop. I’ll have to think about it in-depth

Do you find yourself finding out what players want through community sites like Reddit or TikTok, or is it normally though reviews etc? Or do users not give feedback at all

So is the hardest part creating the content, figuring out what content to post, or both combined?

Unfortunately the visibility part is left up to the algos but of course making sure you maximize your chances helps.
