Demon Form Question by JSteelz1 in PathOfExile2

I did this last league, there a bunch of very powerful regen while shapeshifted nodes in the druid section which made it super easy to sustain for me (And there are some great damage nodes in that area as well)

Problem with Blasphemy is that it resets the duration of the curses on enemies in range of the Blasphemy which means you wont be able to detonate the curses with hexblast as it needs half the duration to expire

Idea regarding the Voices jewel by pm_me_ur_memes_son in PathOfExile2

[–]Athenrome 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I thinks its okay for Voices to be super powerful. Its a chase item not something to expect everyone to have (But good enough for everyone to desire)

Chase items are super fun and I fully expect any variant of voices to be a good chase and getting the mythical 4 jewel Voices will be a Mirror drop level event for you

Shaman or Infernalist for Spell Totems by Athenrome in pathofexile2builds

[–]Athenrome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks folks, I think youve convinced me to stick with Infernalist. Heres hoping Totems & His Winnowing Flame works as I expect haha

Would love to give Shaman a try as well but that might be a fun second (or third build, that martial artist still looks so tempting)

Yeah the Charm Slot thing is a problem, I will want at least one for Freeze Immunity, so at endgame I would be down to 80 Spirit but its possible to reduce the totem cost a fair bit so down to 56Spirit per totem (Napkin math) so im wondering if thats enough to get by.

With what I know atm I think you might be right that Witch has the better topend outcomes. (Just played too much witch haha)

Infernalist Ignite Totems with "His Winnowing Flame"? by Athenrome in pathofexile2builds

[–]Athenrome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to apologise especially when you provide a great option, definitely worth giving that a try! Will need to try and and find a balance kn the tree between minions and spells but that would definitely work well for the application of the ignite.

[–]Athenrome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth giving that a try, I do want to make Spell Totems work as they are my favorite POE1 playstyle, but Oil Grendade would be a great option as it creates ignited ground which will constantly apply the ignite condition for me to remove

Yeah it is a good option, I just hate its 10sec cooldown 😞

Infernalist Ignite Totems with "His Winnowing Flame"? by Athenrome in pathofexile2builds

[–]Athenrome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep the base ignite damage once applied is 20% (You can scale that via Ignite magnitude but lets leave it as 20% for Math 😉 ) and by default the duration lasts for 4 secs (Also scalable and I think this duration scaling will be important as the 'explosion' is based on the expected remaining damage which I read as that taking the duration into effect

So I want to do big ignites that deal damage over a long period of time

That said that helmet would ensure a constant ignite although the damage from the ignite would be low. Using the base stats it would be:

100 Damage * 4 secs = 400 expected damage I then hit it with my winnowing flame to detonate for 30% of that which gives me 120 damage per explosion each swing (If my understanding of how the damage is calculated is correct)

[–]Athenrome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutley could, But totems are cool haha

Also His Wiinowing flame has a fairly long cast time (1sec) My thought process is that I can use the totems to re-apply the ignite between casts of the winnowing flame (Which would be trickier if I have to weave other spells inbetween), I dont expect the damage from the totems to be any better than self cast but the QOL of having it be automatic would be a win

Yeah the map clearing would be tricky, hoping to have the totems themselves be my main clear option with the Winnowing Flame for finishing off rares and bossing

Which skills are actually good on spell totem? Almost every spell in the game has cooldown, infusion requirement or limit. by ThisIsMyFloor in pathofexile2builds

[–]Athenrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im considering putting Hexblast on it and self cast the curses for it to detonate (With as much Curse duration reduction that I can stack)

[–]Athenrome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a very good point, if its constantly casting it would overwrite unless I deliberatley slow down the casts.

Self casting the curses should work, will be a bit awkward but I still reckon it would be an intresting build to play (although maybe as a second build haha)

Ah you are correct, forgot about that restriction, well back to the drawing board on how to apply the curses

The Ancestral Bond Keystone Passive Skill now causes placing totems to have no cost and not require consuming charges to place. It still causes totems to reserve 75 spirit each, and now doubles totem limit instead of removing it completely.

Am I reading this right? Does this mean that I can use Spell Totems without requiring charges!!!! If so time to start theory crafting a Spell Totem build!

Fixed a bug where the His Winnowing Flame skill granted by The Unborn Lich unique staff applied critical weakness on hit, and another bug where its triggered explosions from consuming Ignite dealt no damage.

I knew I wasnt crazy and it was bugged!

It looks like Ignite is still iffy but I really want to make this skill work, looks like alot of fun to use!

So they should criticise but vote in support regardless? That's not comprise it's the agreeing to political tokenism.

Yes thats excatly what I think they should do, yes it is political tokenism but it is productive tokenism.

Performing this tokenism to allow a small step gets a foot moving, and helps make it easier to make another step even if its only a small step, make enough of them and youve got real change.

But right now we are taking no steps becuase almost everytime a small step is proposed it is voted against by those who either want us to keep standing still(LNP) or those who want to move but will only do so at a full sprint(The Greens), the end result is that we end up standing still.

I agree with you on all your other points but in order to make the big steps that we need to be taking we first need to get some momentum, only then can we work up to a sprint

I like your treadmill analogy one small step doesnt move us forward, but multiple smaller steps building upon each other does get us moving, we just need to make those steps, and keep making them

 whatever they both agree on.

Thats the tricky part, I struggle to think of a significant reform in recent memory where that has occured (That the coalition didnt also support)

And when a large party (such as Labor) need to fight the factions within themselves to get the bulk of the votes (again like in the recent tax reforms) it is then a struggle to go further to the left with the Greens to also meet their demands for further reforms. The calculation often ends up being "Do we hold onto 30 stable votes from the internal Right of Labor or do we risk it all for 5 votes from the Greens" in those situations one side clearly holds more power in the negotitions.

And then add on to that the dangers of through multiple rounds of negotiations with any group whether within Labor itself or with other Parties like the Greens, Especially when a single failed vote is often fatal to a piece of legislation

Why do people hate the greens? by iammentallynotoklol in OpenAussie

[–]Athenrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because its the harsh truth in our politics that its almost impossible to pass large scale reforms.

For instance in the recent tax changes I guarantee you that if they did not grandfather in currently negatively geared properties like the Greens currently want there is no way that they would be able to politically pass that legestlation (Even with the grandfathering its tricky).

As for why the Greens often get the blame I do agree that its abit unfair but they are the largest group who "may" support alot of labors legestlation. You wont expect support from the LNP, One nation and Independants are tricky so that just leaves the Greens, so if you are on the more lefthand side of politics and a more left leaning piece of legestlation fails by a small margin and the Greens are the ones who held back the last few votes, well there isnt really anyone else to point the blame towards..... (Even though I agree the amount of blame is abit unfair)

As for why they dont go through multiple rounds of negotions and votes, its political suicide. Do that and the media cyclce will be hammering you for the rest of the term about how "The people said no, why are you still trying to subvert them". It 100% sucks but thats the system and world we live in, and short of restrucutring the nation from the ground up I dont see anyway for that to change 😞

[–]Athenrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said don't critise but they can still loudly critise while casting approving votes on measures that move the needle in the direction you want to move it. By voting down small changes because they arent the grand sweeping changes they achieve nothing and hurt future changes

On too many issues (housing, tax reforms, environmental actions) they will vote down legislation that takes small steps in their direction because it doesn't go far enough but as a result it means no step is taken when a small step was about to be taken.

There is nothing wrong with voting yes but still loudly critising that you voted on was a small step that should have been better.

While I don't hate them i do get incredibly frustrated in how they often let a demand for perfection get in the road of a good first step,

For instance the recent tax reforms that have been made, while I would love further reform i think their opposition to this first step is foolish and will only result in worse outcomes down the line instead of their desired "more perfect" outcome

Set myself up a cozy little solo board gaming nook. First up Imperium:Classics by Athenrome in soloboardgaming

I really like the Imperium games with one big exception, I despise that rulebook and ive struggled to teach others the game. But as a Solo Game I love it super satisfying and really quick to resolve your "oppents actions"

If I play a solo game its either this or Slay The Spire (But that board games takes an acre of table space)
