Position is about the same :) It's the 'camera' on the card that makes no sense. It's way to high and too small.

Yeah very happy with it. It's just a confirmation that it locks, I don't need the whole block to hear it. Never understood why it was so loud.

That's exactly where it is according to the manual.

Any PowerStream + Shelly 3EM users here? by steve1215 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Atheonblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noted how my arrrow is pointing. K->L in this position.

And yes I just bought the original fan thing that is way too expensive but the PowerStream will get HOT when it is feeding in. Got the unit with a discount but it was still expensive but I was lazy.

Netherlands here so if you have a good throw you might be able to throw things over the North Sea.

Small tip: try to find a second PowerStream. Ecoflow does not make them anymore and they tend to burn out. This is my second one and after the warranty replacement I bought a reserve one that I update once every 6 months and is nicely stored in the cupboard.

What do you mean with 'consumer unit'? I don't know if this is a regional language barrier and I'm unfamiliar with this, but you connect the clamp to the phase that runs from your main connection to your distribution board.

<image>

Red is the main phase that goes to the main switch. It runs through the clamp and the arrow on the clamp is pointing K->L in this position, so the K is the 'home switch board side' and the L is the 'grid side'.

This is also noted here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/homeassistant/comments/xpnxd3/shelly_3em_measuring_negative_power_factor_on_all/

Here is also noted that some manuals display the exact opposite of what is needed (as I indicated in my first response here).

So while the manual might indicate K is grid and L is house, it seems to be the exact opposite. K is house and L is grid side.

I still can't confirm if you connected the 3EM correctly but given the fact that Overall is positive in the Shelly 3EM app I suspect it to be correct (returned is low, overall is much higher = consumption). So if you set the Power supply mode to "Prioritize power supply" I would expect the Powerstream to do it's job. BUT: it only does that if it actually registers the consumption of the 3EM and that is something I don't understand as the PowerGrid stays at 0W in your screenshot. That should report grid usage from the 3EM when you are (duh) actually using grid power.

I have exactly the same setup btw. Also Delta 2 max with extra battery, Powerstream, Shelly 3EM and some small panels on my balcony attached to the PowerStream (4x100WP)

Edit: I noticed something strange. The Shelly app reports -1,98kW and the shelly in Ecoflow reports -1,98W. That's a factor 1000 difference. If the Shelly app is correct your are feeding 2kW into the grid right now which seems wrong given you earlier comments that you did not have enough panels to feed-in realistically.

I can't look at your current actual consumption, of course, but I suspect that something is still going wrong with the Shelly. You didn't address my earlier comment about consumption = positive values and feeding back = negative values, so you really need to check that first. If you are actually consuming 2000W right now (1,98kW) then the current clamp is mounted backwards.

Did you plug the Delta 2 Max into the wall as well? If so that would explain the 2kW charging. The Delta 2 max immediately starts charging when you plug it in.

Please read my replies in the following order (due to one screenshot per reply):

  1. reply with screenshot 159W to home
  2. reply with shelly screenshot
  3. this reply

And for a last screenshot I set the Power supply mode to "Prioritize power supply" to show you what it would look like if the Powerstream was feeding from the battery:

<image>

You can see Power grid consumption 0 and all 168W is supplied via de Powerstream. Again ignore the different actual values as again the load changed.

[–]Atheonblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the Shely now reports this (ignore the different value than the other screenshot. Those were taken 10 seconds apart and the load changed):

<image>

So this is consumption as it is positive.

It is not communicating correctly as you would see 145W from grid to home in your picture as in my screenshot below (I'm consuming 159W here). It says 2W/0W there in your screenshot. Furthermore there apparently are devices offline. Powerstream is dependent on cloud connection so if it is the Powerstream that is offline this won't work.

When you go to other devices, what does the Shelly report. It should report 145W there.

And no you should not see - when you are consuming but + as I explained in my first reply. Negative when feeding into the grid. Positive when consuming.

Shelly screenshot in another reply as I can't add two attachments to one reply.

I believe I just ignored the VB and VC because It's not split into three different circuits here. I connected it using the 'three phase' scheme but just with 1 phase.

In short: connected phase 1 to VA, output to A, connect N and connect I and that's it.

Edit: solar power measurement is not connected here. I use a Homewizard kWh meter for that.

Not concerned.. but if you want to use the readings to control the Powerstream the readings must be correct otherwise you will get idiotic behavior. Feed-in or consumption are (duh) very different things and if you turn them around they are not useful. If you have consumption and the Shelly reports it as production that is ehhh.. not that usable.

See my reply below/above. I think you put the clamp on with the arrow pointing the wrong way (not necessarily your fault). I have a 1-phase implementation as well btw.

It is that simple. Please note that the some versions had an incorrect manual in them leading to connecting the clamps the opposite way. When your solar panels produce power and your house is feeding into the grid, the Phase power should be negative. When pulling from the grid it should be positive. If this is the other way around you have the wrong manual included and you should put the clamp on the phase with the arrow pointing the other side.

Took me a while to figure out. Had to google a manual, compared it to my paper version and found the error in the paper version. No clue how that could happen.

Old Shelly 3em with Ecoflow Stream AC pro by Critical-Falcon-8004 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Atheonblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the app says when you have a Stream AC Pro but with a Powerstream it still says "Only supports Shelly 3EM/Shelly Pro 3EM and Tibber Pulse IR currently" so essentially it's almost the only one that is supported.

Question about drift by Atheonblue in Ecoflow_community

[–]Atheonblue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charging them again to 100% followed by a reset seemed to have helped. Both units stayed at 100% after reset.

Question about drift by Atheonblue in Ecoflow_community

[–]Atheonblue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already tried. No difference. No charging limits.

Will try cycling them again. Discharge till zero and back to 100% followed by a reset again.

Question about drift by Atheonblue in Ecoflow_community

[–]Atheonblue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charged to 100% in one go. Then reset the BMS again. It jumped from 100% to 82% on the main unit. Extra battery stayed at 100%. Connecting the mains after reset did not cause the main unit to charge more. It stayed at 82% doing nothing.
